There is no better way to protect your transmission then adding a transmission cooler to prevent ATF degradation and premature transmission wear.     Tools Required:

    - Socket Set (Metric) 10-14mm and 24mm
    - 6" sock extension or 5" with a 12mm deep socket
    - Allen Key (5mm)
    - Pliers
    - Step Hole Drill (1.25") Amazon sells cheap ones for around $11.

    - Hydrophilic Jack and Stands
    - Level (For ATF Check) or someway to verify your truck is level

    How to Monitor Temps: Cheapest option is to buy the app "OBD Fusion" on your phone and input the custom PIDs for the pan and torque converter temperatures (see below). You will also need the bluetooth OBD adapter. There are many brands but here is one of the cheaper options.

    In order to input the pan and torque converter custom PIDs on your OBDFusion app go to "settings" then "User-Defined PIDs". Copy the information below. Leave everything the same besides what I am telling you to change.

    I have this kit and it’s awesome. I had my dealer install it so as to not void my warranty. The tech who installed it was super impressed. It even has Toyota clamps. If you are going to tow and want to keep your transmission temperatures the same as they have been since 2007. This is the kit!

    Great product that chasenicholas93 offers and a must add for the 2019 -20 Tundra for those that tow. The only complete kit I've seen to add an ambient cooler.

    To anyone who installed kit: any torque specs for the puck/thermostat bolts? I seem to be getting a little weeping but don't want to risk snapping bolts. Thanks.

    Just to be sure, did you move the O-Rings from the spacer to the thermostat housing? That’s critical. I hand tightened enough to compress the o-rings and no weeping. Somebody did post torque specs but they were removed.

    The 2015 tundra manual that is on the forums somewhere said 15 ft lbs. for those three bolts.

    75 inch pounds is 6.25 ft.lbs. Quite a difference from 15 ft.lbs.

    The correct torque for the three warmer/thermostat bolts is 15 ft-lb. I suspect those bolts are M10, rather than M6. Over torque would be considerable, and is more likely to strip threads in the aluminum case rather than snap off the heat-treated bolts.

    I would double-check the o-rings. O-rings will seal with only slight compression (subject to fluid pressure). If you're still leaking with any more than slight torque, you either lost the o-rings on assembly, or they've been damaged (cut). Good practice advises to always replace o-rings during reassembly. O-rings are cheap; having to go back in to replace them is painful.

    There should be four o-rings in the AB60 transmission thermostat/warmer assembly: Two o-rings came with the thermostat to seal it the transmission case, and there were two existing o-rings to seal the warmer to the thermostat. It may be necessary to use some grease or petroleum jelly to keep the o-rings in the grooves while you're fumbling with the thermostat assembly.

    Thanks John. If you have damaged one of the o-rings you will have 2 spares that came off of the spacer to use.

    If you need a transmission cooler this is the set-up you want. Top notch components. Excellent write-up and top notch parts. By the time you assemble the parts, hunt for the fasteners, pay for shipping, the value of your time, your cost will exceed what this cost and this is one stop shopping! You can piecemeal one together with less quality components but you may very well smoke your transmission.

    You sure its leaking and not residual oil left from the install? I also thought I might have a little leak but after a proper clean up everything was good.

    I will now offer partial kits that will include all the aftermarket parts needed for an install (see first post). I also am now receiving a wholesale discount from Japan due to the amount of money I spend on parts. Due to this, the price for a complete kit will be lowered to $790. Complete kits are not expected to ship until late October due to lead times from Toyota due to the large quantity of parts I requested. If you have reserved a complete kit and would like to order a partial kit instead and order your own Toyota parts, please PM me. It may be faster for you to install the kit this way.

    I paid $300-$400 I can’t remember...or so? I don’t think it’s too hard to do. I just wanted to have it covered. I would negotiate? How do they know how long? Tell them 2 hours. Maybe call around?

    The complete kit includes everything you will need to install the cooler, including the ATF. You will only need between 1-1.5 quarts of ATF and the kit includes two quarts.

    That 's the issue. Because there is no labor rate for installing the cooler your at the mercy of the service writer or manager and most don't have a clue. I would insist that a tech be asked how long it would take to do. Personally it should take less than 2.5 hours. Multiply the time by the shop rate.
