As much as I love some beef on the grille, it looks like that was a crappy day.

Seriously though, thinking about all the hard work Toyota puts into crash testing to keep us safe.......It's well done.

Agreed. In my case I hit a Sonata at 50 mph in my Tacoma and walked away. Even though the frame was diamond a healthy 2”, all 4 doors would open. Windshield didn’t even crack. @$);$@) incredible IMHO

This went really good. Well done everybody ! ;)

It really does show how safe these vehicles are. I'd be interested to see how well other brands held up. I will tell you guys after this happened it makes me nervous to drive at night in anything BUT the tundra. Even with it. It was quite the experience

I know what you are dealing with. I totaled my 1970 Plymouth Duster. Just had engine blue printed. New street race pistons. Hit outright...3 cows. Flipped over. Seat belt saved my ass. Walked back to my girl friends house. Sheriff called out and had to put down a fouth cow. Wasn't free range. Some hippie ass fool thought he could let his cattle go where ever they please. Fun times that night....

You couldn’t give me a free Tundra if I was forced to rock this bumper.
    But buddy, you needed it.

I'm kinda stuck on the design phase of a bumper I'd be 100% confident in against a cow. Im not convinced one exists. I'm thinking just light the road up so much a cow can be seen from a mile away.

They exist. Depends on speed and the mass you hit. Same with trains......

True....but what happens when you go around a corner like I did every day and all off a sudden a small herd of cattle is in the middle of the road?? The best Ranch Hand bumper will help. Up to a point. The speed vs mass thing...

Ouch, glad you made it out but it sucks loosing a good truck. I've always hated seeing first generation tundras hauled off on a flat bed. Those first gens were second to none for years.

    Where in Wyoming are you?

When I asked the local highway patrolman about a large or multiple large (4-6') spike protruding from a solid steel bumper and he said no, I kinda came to the same conclusion. A slower pace and more lights and constant attention is all I've got now. It's a good thing you were in a solid car.

Powell-Cody area. This happened on the way up to the bighorns. And yeah . The pictured gen 1 started my love affair of Toyota pickups. Nothing better.
