Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched and saw some similar threads but they were mostly with aftermarket stereos.

I have a 2012 tundra crew max and the stereo seems to be working but no sound is coming through the speakers.

Nothing weird has happened the battery didn’t die or anything. I went to work and the stereo worked fine and when I went to leave it would power up and everything functions but no sound comes through.

Just to be clear this is the stock sereo.

    Thanks for the help
    Josh

Did you mute it with the steering wheel controls by accident?

Nope, and it doesn’t beep when I hold down the mode button and turn the stereo off either.

you may want to disconnect the battery for a few min and give it a refresh so to speak . Any thoughts from the board ?

Nope, I thumb through all the different modes, cd, radio, none of it works. I mean it appears to be working but no sound comes out. The radio seems to be functioning, display works, it know what song is playing.

Did you push AND hold mode to rule out the mute? I had same issue once.

Did you confirm the wires are plugged into the head-unit?

I didn’t check at the head, I’m assuming I need to pull the dash apart to do that? Seem like there has to be some other fuse or something?

I think you need to pull the vent clips off to remove the HU to check.

Is there an amp fuse somewhere? Maybe check there first.

Does the truck have a separate amp under the seat maybe? Maybe the issue is at that location or does the head unit power the speakers?

I’ve checked all the fuses and nothing. It has a amp under the passenger side seat and I’m planning on replacing it which some research I did on the forums here and hoping that will fix things. Sense I bought the truck 3 weeks ago the amp has always felt a bit weak. Compares to my buddies tacoma with the same jbl system.

Same problem 2015. Nothing changed. Got to destination and everything was great. Went to leave later in the evening and now no sound. All buttons operational, but no beeping from HU and no volume.

My 2011 platinum is doing the same thing. No sound comes in or out like it's shorting out. Then it may play for a few then it may go back out again. I checked the wires at the amp under the passenger seat but they were all connected. It does it with the blue tooth and the sat radio. Obviously a shorting issue.. any suggestions. Thought about just buying an android radio and putting it in.
