I definitely do not recommend it and I posted it so that more people will be made aware of just how dangerous it can be and how fast it can go wrong!

I just regret that it took me two and a half months to get it up on the freaking site! I just figured out how to make a gif out of it. I've been showing people the video every chance I get cause nobody can believe that I survived it

Thank you for asking, I've made a full recovery other than a one-inch scar right above my left eyebrow I've healed perfectly, no issues whatsoever with my vision.

Thank you kindly! My wife was told before they ever left the scene with me and the ambulance that I had for sure lost my left eye, she was completely mortified!

Well, I wasnt there, but the face is very vascular, and the amount of blood at the scene, I am sure it looked way worse that it obviously was.

I tried to get all of the doctors in the ER to send me the pictures that they were taken of my face before it was stitched up! I was really curious to see how I looked because I was blinded for 3 days in my left eye due to the gunk and swelling.

You're braver than I am! If it was your face i could look at it. As an RN in a general and vascular surgery most things dont phase me. However...if it's my blood, tissue, ect nope nope nope

Usually I would be the same way, however this didn't affect me like other wounds I've suffered! Because I could not see what I look like it's left me with curiosity. The ophthalmologist that check my eyes just 12 hours after the incident was completely blown away that I could still see with my left eye and furthermore stated the emergency doctors wanted to cut my eyelid open further just to see if there was a pocket of blood behind my eyeball. He did his best to talk them out of that procedure and I think God he did because that would have affected my vision permanently. Due to my nearsightedness I wear glasses all of the time and they are the only thing that saved my life.

Thank goodness for a good optometrist and crappy/bad vision to begin with! So what exactly happened, blew up on it's own or did you try relighting something that went out?

It was supposed to be an artillery shell that would have been the air and the one that I lit previous to the one that hit me give me about 5 6 second window to move away from the charge. So the next one I went and grabbed I expected it to be the same way however as soon as the punk hit the fuse the charge went off, my dumb complacent ass was standing directly over the tube. it happened instantaneously I had no chance of getting out of the way.

I've got a nice burn scar on my stomach from a roman candle war, got hit in the head that night too. had a small bald spot on my head and about 2in circle of oozing skin on my stomach for a couple weeks. now next time we have one I'm wearing a hat, paintball mask and a jacket that wont melt if it gets hit. I was only wearing poly/cotton shirt when I got hit in the stomach and that made it worse cause it melted to me a little bit. I was the only one injured that night and I blame it on my outfit. I avoid artillery shells at all costs cause I've seen them misfire or not shoot high enough too many timesSnapchat-1752740507.jpg Snapchat-30550788.jpg

Wow, that is terrible to hear about both of them. I feel my dad (he passed away 1-31-19) was watching over me and provided just enough protection to insure I would learn a valuable lesson without being permanently damaged. I use every opportunity to share my story to hopefully make other aware of just how fast sh*t can hit the fan, and how much damage it can cause.

I don't buy anything but artillery shells. That could have been much worse than it was and damn sure don't hold anything in my hands!
