I’m not surprised by this, as a Consumer Reports subscriber for over 40 years.
Sadly, CR has still got a lot to learn about trucks.
Also, it’s sort of stupid to write a review article that includes the Honda Ridgeline and 1 ton Ford in the same group.
BTW, according to CR, 2015 is the best year for the Tundra, so far.

Interesting, I wonder what makes different years more reliable than others, when they have been operating on the same platform for so long. Perhaps different parts suppliers, manufacturing processes...not sure.

HOnda Ridgeline is not a truck, it’s an accord w/ an open trunk

Actual, the new model Ridgeline is built on the Pilot platform, not the Accord. Secondly, I drove the previous generation Ridgeline for 10 years and put 240,000 on it without a single issue outside of regular maintenance. It's not a Tundra, but it is definately a truck that is very reliable and I beat the heck out of for 10 years. Of the 240K driven, about 80K was towing.

I don’t care what platform is is built on. It’s still a car company trying to break into the truck market. Lol

Don’t know if you have ever seen cr,s reliability findings? They have about 15 or more categories from engine to trim fitment, exhaust to rattles. All years of Tundras were at the top in almost everything. I don’t remember what the minor areas were that dropped down to just “better”, from “much better”. I tossed the issue after scanning the Tundra rankings.

Don't tell my dad that. He had an '06 he ran into the ground and has just bought a '13. He used it to tow 8000 + trailers, put his tools in the trunk, and remodeled many things. I kept telling him that he would kill the truck, and at 208k it finally died. I tried talking him into a Tundra, but he said he didn't want a truck without a trunk anymore.

This is actually footage of a ridgeline owner after someone said his car wasn't a truck!

its a little vehicle with a toy bed in the back, just like wearing an alligator or izod status shirt back in the day, kinda like a yuppy!

I had the gen 1 Ridgeline, though it was dependable, it was a little vehicle that really wanted to be a truck!

Toyota had already sold a lot of small trucks overseas before entering USA market back in the 60s. The rest is history...
