@DPT007 Hmm, that's interesting...waiting till after paint to drill the holes. Thx for the heads up.

Yea since ur not actually drilling holes while the body kit is taped on ur not damaging any paint. Just being extra cautious to insure holes match up exactly and not letting any processes change anything.

Awesome thread OP....one thing that drives me crazy about the flares are the completely open gaps. Is there a great reason for this or would it be wise to do some mods and close them up properly?

I went with larger tires for some of the same reason u mentioned but doing so created more hurdles that I had to overcome. I’m hopeful the look when complete will be unreal. I also plan on rhino lining the wheel wells once done

Haha you guys are killing me. Truck won’t be done for another week or two. I order rivnuts to use to secure the kit to the truck and make it removable in the future for vinyl work etc

Well that is an awesome idea! I was wondering how these were attached to the body. Now I know it's a free for all / Just get them on any way you can! I do have a few ideas on the inside well area though. When I finally get this stuff to install I am going to try them out.

I worked closely here in Vegas with a few other car guys that do a lot of custom work and they suggested the Rivnuts. The inside well
I would like to rhinoline but I’m so limited with room replacing the inner lining is difficult

The only thing I would try ..(and this idea might not make any sense at all) is put paper thin rubber washers at every contact point. I would also use some loctight on the bolts so they don't have to be wrenched down really hard. I saw a few pics of install jobs where you can see they tightened down too much and the flares start to look pinched at the mounting points. For the big hole....save your time and money with the liner. What you want is for that hole to be closed up! You can go to the junk yard and grab a few plastic wheel liners from other cars. Trim them to fit your wells. close those holes up!

Oh I like the rubber surrounding the bolt...

My kit came with all the nuts and bolts I need along with rubber strip to place between the genders and body. I just don’t like the nut application and wanted something more stable, secure so I found out the bolt size and found the right rivnut size.

The Rivnuts (aka thin metal inserts) would not be my first choice.

I prefer the "isolation" provided by the rubber mounts (in the link provided)

fyi: I'm not using the hardware that came with the kit.
