Reason I ask I just ordered the trd dual exhaust through the dealership. I do like the bottom end power and smoothness of the truck. Worst case scenario I will take it back off. I had a custom magnaflow exhaust on my 08 but the noise and drone was to much

Magnaflow killed me. TRD is about the only way to go man. It doesn't kill too much of the back pressure, however, after 4 years with it on and then stock...I vote stock. Just miss the sound.

I'm averaging 15-17 in mixed Daily driving with an occasional 20 mpg even with the truck being a 4X4

I'm 4x4 as well and can get that mileage. Just keep it under 2K

This transmission likes to stay in lower gears for some reason my 08 wasnt like this. I have noticed above 65-70 the truck drinks a lot

I have about 2600 miles on my truck now and so far my overall average is about 18.3 mpg (hand calculated), the worst tank average was 17.4 that was driving on a trip with cruise set to 75. Sweet spot on the interstate is between 65 and 70, that equals right at 20 mpg. City I get right at 15 mpg but I don't accelerate hard and let it coast towards red lights, just have to drive smart and still not impede traffic.

In the end it is a truck and not an econo-cruiser. Gas around here is usually between 2.09 and 2.19 so I really don't care. I just returned from vacation in Germany, I paid about 1.30 for on liter of gas ( I damn sure wouldn't drive a Tundra over there).

Sorry for the delay replying. I don't get notices anymore since we can't use tapatalk anymore.

I have used it for years. I track everything about my truck in it. highly recommended if you have an android phone or headunit.

UPDATE 26Aug18: aCar was purchased by Fuelly and changed the pricing structure where you have to pay yearly. I recommend moving over to Simply Auto. It imports aCar records and has very similar features. https://www.simplyauto.app/

I recommend staying AWAY from aCar/Fuelly now because they publish your records on the web for all to see PLUS charge you yearly to use the app. If that is your thing then fine. I am a little old fashion about that.

Make sure you hand calculate your gas mileage with the Tundra. For a while my dash stated that I was manufacturing fuel. With the SC I have never bettered 12.7 mph. I use the SC pretty sparingly. My foot is not in it that often. When it is, it drops to 11 mpg or less. But having 550hp is worth it. Nothing like the BD tune.

Above the odo there is a screen that displays using the top right directionals on the steering wheel you can scroll through a lot of features. Turn on and off dynamic cruise tractional control etc

Thanks, will check it out, I thought I did scroll horizontally and nothing like that appeared, but will see in a bit. My 2018 4x4 CM is doing 18.4mpg at 75 with cruise on the HWY, and 14.8MPG in the city with 1K miles on it so far. I do run no-ethanol fuel.

You can turn off or on pre collision and land departure assist. Also adjust the sensitivity of both. In right of wheel below directional is the on off button for lda. And a button above it that increases or decreases the radar distance when using dynamic cruise.

Cool, I appreciate it. The TSS, full LED's and FRT/REAR Sonar were a selling point for us on the truck. It works well, I will say the Adaptive Cruise Control on my Subaru WRX is far better, in that it can go completely to a dead stop and back to speed again.

When I got the truck first that screen displayed the tank average and a moving bar which showed the instant fuel usage. I went in the settings and changed it to the total average. You can reset that at any time.

Yes, you can add those in the "settings" and Meter 1 or Meter 2. However, I can't for the life of me get any of those to reset from the steering wheel controls. I use the ECO app on the head unit. I can clear the current and past trip, that's about it. 2018 CM, 4x4, SR5. If you found a way to reset the Tank/Trip average on the information display on dash board, please, tell me how.

Scroll alll the way to the right, to settings panel. Then Meter settings. You can customize two panels with various stuff like trip mileage, total, etc... and tank, trip fuel average.

well, my Tundra did that to me the first 4 miles I had it. Wasn't aware of that feature and it freaked me out. Thought it was smart, as the manual says no "heavy" braking inside the first 200. Lol.

8 - 8.5 mpg city and 13 - 14 mpg highway. Don't regret it a bit, it's a beast and blast to drive. Although you wouldn't think it by the numbers I drive a little old lady too :D

You can only reset the "Total Average" by pushing the center button of the right steering wheel controls and hold it. The tank average will reset when you fill the tank.

My 08 has a lifetime average of 14, but that is 80% city and includes quite a bit of idling time. On the highway I get 19 running 65-70. Above 70 though, it will drop to about 17. The first few years I had it with about a 50/50 mix of city and highway and little idle time it averaged 15.3

To truly get accurate MPG you have to record it manually at each fill up!
This "Automated" thing Toyota shows you is not accurate because it does not know how much gas you actually put in the tank.

That might be fine for most people if you are looking for a ball park average over several fill ups.

That is why I record the gallons and mileage into an app at each fill up.
The app does the math and logging for me. I also use it to log all my expenses as well.

My stock H/T + 5100s 2wd 5.7 DC averages around 17 with about 70% highway, usually at 70mph. In the past I've seen way better mpg (low 20s) going 50-55mph on back roads with minimal stoplights. Air resistance is a big deal on these giant bricks.

My friend was able to really tell on his F150 ecoboost. Even with 3.31 gearing, at higher speeds his truck immediately kicks into boost to accelerate.

Yeah im proud of my girl shes doing just what a truck should do....
    20180106_130047.jpg

But when I do tundra math....
Last tank was on 1/4 so decided to fill her up. 405 miles added 28.62 gallons of pure winter blend 87octane ethy.
(Bare with me this can get complicated!)
So 405÷28.62 + (toyota formula) x 3.14 ÷ 3.14 + 2 extra hamburers last week - one less trip to store for wifes ice cream = 14.1 mpg avg

If I drive a lot I just hop in my POS subaru and drive her 30mpg all day :)

    There ya go!
