Here’s the video mentioned. More and more scuttle about 24 being included. Quite a few 24 failures out there now. So discouraging. My 2024 landcruiser transmission seems to be hesitating, jerking. So furious at Toyota. I had 550K trouble free miles with basic maintenance on my 1998 4Runner and 2016 2.5 Gen. Then again. Then again My brother just bought a 6.2 GMC Sierra and put exactly 600 miles on it before check engine light came on. It’s been sitting at the shop for 2 weeks and he’s had to fight to get a loaner.

None of the situations I mentioned were lemon law.

Just people opening case with Toyota, Toyo dodging, one demand letter from an attorney and after short back and forth here is a check and instructions where to turn the truck in.

Going lemon law first kicks you into a pre determined legal process and outcome. It should be a last result but not your first action. It robs the OEM and dealer of any chance to make something right in a way that might be better than the state lemon law formula.

Toyo maybe hard balling in the Tundra due to the potential cost of large scale buybacks. They could buy back a small number of Tacos, recond them, wholesale them and be out less money that a protracted lemon law or legal arm wrestling costs. All while protecting the customer relationship.

All pickup Truck manufacturers are having problems. Toyota used to be the one with the least. Now they are on the same level. If you get rid of a Tundra, you may have issues with the others.
Everyone of them, you get one that is great or plagued with problems.

Great deals to be had on lower trim F-250s locally (Brandon Fl). I look up the review and owners comments on Edmunds, right off the bat multiple issues with the 2024s. My favorite was 600 miles on the odometer and the AC failed and has to be replaced.

What’s he got wrong? Seems spot on to me given the reports that are coming in re: 2023 and 2024 engine failures and Hybrid motor failures. Ive been skeptical of the “machining debris” nonsense ever since the failures kept rolling in after they “changed the manufacturing and cleaning process.” If it was simply machining debris, we wouldn’t be talking about it, cause the issue would have been quickly (and easily) resolved.

My brother’s did it when new. The 6.2’s had common injector failures. Not sure if it’s still a thing or not.

@winchester44 / - in the 57 days since your post above, exactly zero 24’s have been added to Ryan’s spreadsheet.

What is your source of below? It’s been established here the guy in your video is a troll parroting Ryan and fb. Are you him? Does @Matt2015Tundra need to show you the door again? :deadhorse:

In fairness, just because the 2024s that have blown engines aren’t on the spreadsheet here doesn’t mean they aren’t failing. They are. I’m cautiously optimistic that the 2025s will have whatever is causing the main bearing failure sorted out, but I’m far from convinced. Toyota has some heavy lifting ahead to rebuild trust in the 3.4TT.

Too funny. You post a six month old article, that was the first of three entries on Ryan’s list.
    What are your sources?
You and ol w44 seem to post support of each other and the troll in vid.

It’s really interesting to me that the only place failures are being posted is on Facebook. Plus Ryan is part of that group so I’m sure he is keep that spreadsheet up to date and would document all the failures happening on Facebook as well. Surely out of the reported 3 to 4 failures that supposedly pop up on the Facebook page daily they would be on the spreadsheet and I would think some of them would also post here. Most people tell you never to believe things posted on social media but when it comes to the 3rd gen tundra everything posted about how bad they are is true to the people that don’t own them.

all these people that don’t own a tundra are chicken little’s and the sky is constantly falling. The numbers show the VAST majority of 3rd Gen tundra owners are enjoying their trouble free trucks.

    @MaineTundy @Northern Toyota @SM Tundra

You guys have nothing to worry about. Trust me. You can stop torturing yourself reading this thread. But guys like me, who own 2 Tundras and need a new one (or two) soon also want some reassurance we aren’t buying a work truck that’ll be a boat anchor for months when the motor eats the main bearing. And speaking of Ryan, didn’t he have the same take as you guys until his motor crapped the bed after all the early oil changes and proper break in he did? And that’s why Toyota is replacing 100K+ long blocks.

Ok, let’s try and approach this a different way because subtly hinting that 2.5 gen Tundra guys that doesn’t have a dog in this fight should take it easy is clearly not working.
Every single 3rd gen owner that hasn’t had issues and actually enjoy their truck and dare to say that, is an idiot trying to ignore the impending doom and most of the guys calling them that (like yourself) doesn’t even own a 3rd gen!!!
Why don’t you guys (non-3rd gen) go out and find an alternative truck that has a lower failure rate AND a manufacturer willing to do a recall with engine replacement to replace our trucks with?
Always surprising how the guys with the most complaints don’t actually have a solution to what they are criticizing.

I mean, you can either go buy a new truck if you need one, or don't. Whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Maybe wait for the guy in the YouTube video to do something on the 2025s or 2026s and say they are great now. That would definitely be a good time to go and buy one (Or two.)
