Is it a matter of sales > reliability? No way they were going to stop sales of the 2024. We can assume that the new part was put into production at some point but does anyone know exactly when? 5/24 seems like it would be safe but who really knows?

    Lots of stuff!
I just heard that Toyota is recalling a bunch of engines in the 2022 Tundras and some 2023's! Is this for real or just an internet hoax created by someone at Ford? ;)

I did notice that the OP has a different truck listed in the sidebar than in the message?

Sounds like you got a great deal on the new one. Hopefully, they got the issue figured out last year and you are going to have many years of enjoyment with the 24.

Did you sell your 22 during the recall? If so, how did that work out for you?

Mine is a May 24 as well. A little concerned but love it regardless. Drives like a dream. No issues to date. Only 700 miles tho.

You pioneers get these bugs worked out 'cause as soon as the family finance manager thinks it's her idea to get a new Tundra, I'll be a drivin' one too.

Yeah My 1/18/2023 is not part of the recall. I've found that some manufactured between 1/1/2023 and 2/10/2023 have motors that were apparently part of the new process.

Blasphemous here, I can get a brand new F-150 with a proven 3.5EB which has pretty mature technology at this point for less than that, 4x4 XLT. They are offering 15K off MSRP. If my 2.5 gen takes a dump, I'm probably going back to Ford.

    Im confused.

He was trying to make a point that Toyota slashing “thousands” off new Tundras was evidence of their unreliability and lack of desire on the part of consumers.

If Ford is offering $15k off isn’t that even worse?

    • Toyota lowering prices on Tundras because of recalls and reliability concerns
    • Toyota lowering prices on Tundras reflecting the pickup market and general high interest rate economy as a whole.

    2nd Gen guys: Pick one.

No one is selling trucks right now. I don't think Toyota dealers slashing the price has as much to do with the recall then that fact that the car market is in a big slump.

But my point stands, I'd get an F-150 over the Tundra, if my current ride takes a dump. Ford isn't perfect, but I'd rather deal with their quirks than deal with a potential hassle of engine replacement and driving a Camry loaner for months.

One answer is that large discounts, and competitive interest rates that appeal to many people's ability to "afford" one. A more correct answer may be the say, " A new Tundra owner :spending: is born every minute." I think that's how that saying goes.

nice try on the spin but that’s not an explanation for nobody is selling trucks and they are selling more every month than ever, for now anyways , they did like 15k+ recently
