was the same when we had our "7/8ths sized" tundras with a V8 that was really "the size of a V6" and the "real full-size" came out, same shit guys. none of this is new

Fair enough, but let's be honest. Not all of the shit-talkers are enthusiasts or prospective buyers.

To be clear, I'm probably one of the most vocal Gen 3 owners who routinely points out its various problems. So, I'm not one of the thin-skinned fan boys who acts like you slapped my mother when you say something bad about my truck.

You'd have to open a gate and walk about 400 yards uphill to get to my lawn. And, yes, I'd likely greet you with a firearm nearby.

wait your dealer is spewing hot nonsense. The oil filter is so easy to remove and the area is a breeze to keep clean, it’s actually a very nice feature of the truck. There’s a funnel built in directly under the oil filter. You attach a tube and the oil drains right out, no mess. If they make a mess, I’d run, not walk, from that dealership.

edit: pretty good video on how to do it: https://youtu.be/nuxXy9Y4IZ4?si=S9yZU1TTY1KE7gYC

I avoid commenting on this thread. By choice. I'm member #378. #378. I no longer own a Tundra, but still enjoy this forum. You'd be surprised how many moderators here no longer own a Tundra. Two, I consider friends here in CO. I still offer up my knowledge on pre 3rd Gen Tundras. The current 3rd Gen situation is not ideal, but is being addressed. "We" have been commenting on other people's trucks here since the "beginning". Get used to it. Just sayin.

Funny..., 2Gen (and 2.5 (I was both)) and G3 barking at each other is funny. While some folks aren't entirely happy (me included), shouldn't we just go back to saying how bad our competitors are? I mean, I am starting to think the G3 drama is being stirred up by a bunch of 6.2 GM guys as a distraction campaign....

".., other than that.., how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?"...........

It does provide good procrastination entertainment. People have strong opinions and emotions tied to a tool, I guess. Despite it all, I’ve learned a lot here. Absolutely love my 2024 SR5, probably the most trouble free vehicle i’ve had after multiple Chevys. If that ever changes, I’ll post the results here. But damn maybe I’m just not picky, but this has been a vehicle that just works. Glad other folks found trucks that provide the same to them.

Of course. I've got 56k+ miles on mine. Strong VQ motor. No turbo's needed. Your Tunnie will be in my Frontier's dust. I do go off road. Ha! Ignore the negativity. Let the negativity empower you! My girly Frontier smokes Taco's. Not just on Tuesdays. Ha!

Well I just hit 90K miles on my 23, still waiting on my engine. Truck will be three year old in January. Probably have a 100K when I get the new engine. Waiting…………..

On a side note my SIL got a new 6.2 ZR2, really nice truck but there are things I like better on my Tundra, and some cool things I like on the ZR2 like the dam cool ass tailgate.

I would strongly consider a 3rd gen if they still had the V8. All this new tech under the hood would have me worried. Also I wish they offered a stripped down cab. No tablet, plain analog gauges, front bench, etc. I wouldn't go so far as wishing for crank windows but it seems the lower versions of this truck are still too high tech for my liking. Lol

Some manufacturers are going back to V8's after vowing they were done forever. Are we going to see the V8 make a return in the refresh? At least a limited run?

Right....give this this body style, 10 speed trans and the 5.7L tuned for more power of course and I will gladly trade up. Although I am VERY happy with my 24 TRD Sport

guys, its not going to happen, move on.

the next powertrain tweak will likely be some type of PHEV or EV bs.

like James Hetfield said, "said but true"

have to go to GM if you want a large v8, and no thanks to that with what they have now

well if your going to dream, dream of more than a production 5.7 from toyota, lol.

lets build a badd ass V8 and stuff it in there, hint, way larger than 350 and maybe perhaps not NA :transformer:

If Toyota would simply restart production of the prior generation 2.5 exactly as it was, 5.7L V8 and everything that went into it that made for its reputation and reliability, people would NOT buy it, even the people here saying they would. New tech is part of the modern world, and people do expect it in spite of its detractors.
