that is correct, both say they had the recall motor installed. Those would be the long blocks. However one says his truck has been to the dealer 6 times with no issue found and the other while possibly a motor issues has not been confirmed. Could have been something simply wasn't plug it properly.

Toyota’s Official Response to the Tundra V35A Engine Class Action
Toyota has publicly addressed the April 2025 class action filed by three Tundra owners over alleged V35A engine defects. Their key points are:

    1. Recall Remedy in Place
    • In May 2024, Toyota issued a safety recall covering certain 2022–2023 Tundra and Lexus LX600 vehicles equipped with the affected V35A engines.

    • As part of that recall, Toyota will replace any engine confirmed to contain residual assembly debris at no cost to owners.
    2. Scope of Affected Models
    • Toyota emphasizes the defect is limited to a specific batch of V35A engines in non-hybrid 2022–2023 Tundras and LX600s.

    • They state that neither 2024 Tundra models nor any Tundra Hybrid trucks use the problematic bearings and thus fall outside the recall.
    3. Separate Transmission Issue Mischaracterized
    • The lawsuit cites “throttle lag” and “jolting” complaints that Toyota says stem from a transmission control module calibration, not the engine itself.

    • In December 2022, Toyota issued Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0111-22 to reprogram affected transmission control modules and resolve acceleration hesitation.
    4. Adequacy of the Recall Remedy
    • Toyota contends its free engine replacement for confirmed debris failures fully addresses the plaintiffs’ safety concerns.

    • They argue the class action conflates two distinct issues (engine bearing debris vs. transmission-related lag) and that their existing recall program is sufficient.

At least Toyota already called it a manufacturing defect. So that can pull the old GM dodge to every class action suit that it's warranty only covers manufacturing defects not design defects. And it's just coincidence that 100% of defects they get sued for are design defects

No. The yellow highlighted failures on the spreadsheet are short blocks. The dates of failure are long before long block replacements began.

I would be really interested in seeing a confirmed replacement engine failure. Everything that has been posted on here is just preliminary and the ones that have reported back were all related to disconnected electrical systems if memory serves.

Edit: CONFIRMED LONG BLOCK REPLACEMENT! Before people start referencing short block replacement failures because I was unclear!

ya, we haven't seen a verified bearing failure on the long blocks from what Ive seen so I think your correct.

IMO there is just no way they are going to do all these short and long blocks and not have problems on some of them from the install, thats complex major repair done by humans, shit will happen.
