What if there is a fix worth discussing and it just hasn't been said yet?

If there is a true fix, then Toyota better recall ALL Tundra's with the "old" design....

So when did this alleged “fix” allegedly happen? Was on or before January 2025? Lol

Research the TREAD Act and you'll understand why it hasn't been shared.

So has the "safe" build date of Nov 2024 been pushed back (forward) again due to this new "fix"?

After looking up the TREAD Act, it almost sounds like Toyota will be expanding the recall and hopefully has fully resolved the issue

While everyone is looking up the Tread Act, they should also look up ''enshittification" to realize how we got here. When MBA's and lawyers are calling the shots instead of engineers the consumer suffers...

Perfect example, Tundra seat trim. Something that never was an issue is a common problem with the latest Gen Tundra.

It's my personal opinion that when Mike Sweers and his team brought in the Million Mile Tundra and started tearing it apart, every part they deemed to be "Too Good" got put into the "cost out" column, which played a huge role in the 3rd Gen design and build quality.

For those of you who haven't worked in Consumer Product Goods or manufacturing, "cost out's" represent areas where products are made cheaper over time. This often leads to lower quality, enshittification, planned obsolescence, etc...

Kinda related, I rode in my best friends brand spanking new Tacoma for the first time and noticed that the hood flutters when you drive on the freeway, along with all kinds of wind noise. Something you don't experience with my 17 year old 4Runner...

On the other hand, if not for these regs we might not even have had a recall and many of us would be majorly hosed with engines failing out of warranty.

Lot of gram engineering occuring as well. As consumers demand huge tires, safety gear, luxury gear, etc if the engineers did not trim weight elsewhere the capacity of a 1500 would be 500 lbs if built like a truck in the 90s.

    Super.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I am glad I got the Premium (platinum, gold whatever) Warranty up to 120K. I did the math, if I have the dealer do the oil changes up to the warranty expiration its like 3500.00 or so over the life of the vehicle and I don't have to worry about a warranty paperwork trail. After 120K (if there is an after 120K for it with me) I'll decide if I want to keep it or not.
