Yet here we are debating, the whole point of free speech and forums like this. One side is armed with paid Toyota corporate PR talking points, trying to create a narrative that the defective engine “isn’t a big deal because only 5% will fail” and “you should feel so lucky that Toyota is rebuilding / replacing your defective engine” and “the debris problem has been fixed for real this time.” On the other side are people like me who point out that Toyota’s response to the whole situation is BS, that the motor is defective, and that despite 7 years of trying, Toyota still can’t fix what’s wrong . Easy way to shut me up would be for Toyota to simply make a motor that doesn’t eat bearings. Will they do it for the 2026 model year? Time will tell.

I'd like to know who is getting paid, because I sure haven't seen a check for my "paid Toyota Corporate PR talking points".

I don't think anyone is getting paid for anything. Every forum has people who are fans "no matter what", be it some technology or whatever else. I don't see any reason for being salty. We need something to talk about, hence this thread and exploding motors.

What I want to know is how Toyota could put that statement out and NOT have any follow up from the NHTSA about it given it’s not true. That’s a big ole safety lie there.

Maybe there’s an investigation going on somewhere, but I thought NHTSA usually announces those.

IDK, I saw that 911 Turbo sporting the “Not Ryan” plates again this morning.

FWIW, I meant (and hopefully said clearly enough) “paid talking points.” I 100% believe Toyota’s PR team is doing their best to massage and manage information. People hear things somewhere, they agree with the information, and then later they repeat the information. And before I take my tin foil hat off, I think Toyota PR folks have posted here at times, and probably still do. I don’t think you, or anyone not affiliated with you, would be high on their list of potential recruits tho.

What you don’t seem to get is that there are a bunch of people on here that love the truck because they have been living with it for years and many thousands of miles. Not “paid talking points” or “Toyota PR” but personal experience. What do you have? You keep repeating the same statements and it’s getting old. If I have to hear “7 years”, “2 billion dollar factories” or “design flaw” one more time from you I’m going to start doubting you have an IQ above room temperature! How many times have you said that? Having an argument isn’t repeating the same thing over and over only louder.

I haven’t had issues with my truck and have had it for over 3 years and 125,000 kms. I am getting my engine replaced in 2 weeks. Wish I didn’t have to but here we are. I’m not a fan boy or whatever other insult you wish to bestow on me and others like me. I get defensive and annoyed when people like you with zero experience tell me how I should feel. I think I’m entitled to do that on my own.
