It is quite impressive in the non-Hybrid and even more so in the Hybrid.

What is the peak torque rpm on our motors?

I watched a video on YT today the guy said it was 3200, and I thought that was wrong. Compared to the eco boost at 2100 I believe he said. I tried to look it up and couldn’t find it quickly at least.

non TRD performance we have 479lbs at 2,400 which is still awesome and why this truck tows awesome (props to Aisin as well).

it sounds like shit compared to my 350 hemi with borla, or my tundra 350s, but damn it would walk away from them with a trailer as far as ease of operation goes, just touch the gas the Aisin 10 puts you right about 2,000-2,500 and you just smoothly pull hard, they really dialed in this powertrain IMO

and whatever you were watching was really off, this tundra TT has the lowest peak in a half ton, eco boost is higher. Ford recent did what they always do and sprinkled some magic dust and now they have 500lbs in the eco boost, it was lower recently. They won't lose the numbers game thats for sure, but I think that it still peaks at higher than the tundra TT, have to check that since the last update.

check that I looked, newest eco boost peak is at 3,100 rpm so yes toyota is still the lowest peak on the market

the is likely due to the unreal amount of under-sqaure this thing is, its a little torque monster.

Thought this was interesting. I emailed the plant PR person for the Toyota Alabama plant who confirmed all the Tacoma engines (hybrid or not) are built on the same line. This means to me the Tundra would be the same.

I’m still searching for why the hybrid isn’t being recalled.

So fellas. I went back to the YT video and peak power on Tundra being above 3K. That was referencing the V8 tundra review years ago against the ecoboost. The video was labeled what killed the Toyota V8. It all makes sense now on what I knew was way too high of RPM for our power peak. Matter of fact, they said the ecoboost was at 2500, higher than ours. Whew, I knew something was odd.

Now watching about heating up fluids in cold weather. It brought something atop my mind I picked up not too long ago. Coolant paths in our motor include the exhaust manifolds. I this was odd at first. Now I am super impressed to understand that oil and coolant fluids heat up way quicker this way. Warming that oil is vital to its flow through the motor.

    Your thoughts?

EDIT: Below is the better answer.

A 2-stage structure is used for the water jacket inside the cylinder head and coolant is concentrated in the bottom of the water jacket to enhance the cooling of the combustion chamber. In addition, the wall between the upper and lower water jackets is reinforced to support the high pressure and heat load increase due to turbocharging.

The shape of the water jacket is optimized, lowering the temperature of the combustion chamber and minimizing the temperature difference between the cylinders. As a result, high compression, high torque, high engine output and low fuel consumption are achieved.

The water jacket inside the cylinder head cools the exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head to cool the exhaust gas and reduce the temperature of the exhaust gas flowing through the turbocharger sub-assembly, ensuring reliability and expanding the driving range at the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.

As most of us do, especially given that those with a Hybrid who has experienced a failure have reported that they were unable to move the vehicle again after the failure.

My personal speculation is it's because the hybrids have had a lower failure rate due to the fact that they have less combustion cycles per any given mileage. That, and Toyota can hide behind the excuse that hybrids still have "motive power" if the ICE fails, so it's technically not a "safety issue".

My belief is all Hybrids built during the recall period will eventually be included in the recall. I also believe the "debris" problem extended past the dates of the recall, and this is just the tip of the iceberg on this recall.

I certainly could and hope I'm wrong.

Debris was not resolved until late in the 2024 model year. At least at TMMAL.

My Gen3 Limited trim was built last half of Feb 2023 (VIN 5TFJA5DA2PX083305), outside the recall window. What I am wondering is, if the first round of the machining/debris issues were resolved in mid Feb, what are the chances I won the lottery and happened to hit the sweet spot before the issues reared their head again?

There are failures from both before and after that specific date of February 13, 2023.

    Your build date is 02/22/2023.

So basically I lost the lottery bigtime by being just outside the recall window. I was hoping there was some truth to an earlier post that some process/cleaning changes had been made initially. Significant enough to make them determine what the recall window dates would be. Then I would hope things would be good for a while until the problem re-appeared. Chalk me up for hoping the recall window expands to include mine and everyone else's truck affected by this.

I realize that. That's why my prediction is this is a much larger problem than the initial recall covers.

I don't really GAF. I'll drive and enjoy my Gen 3, regardless. If it implodes, I'll deal with. It's just a truck, not a cancer diagnosis.
