    You are correct.
I've been on the other side of quality surveys at 2 F500 companies. Also ran internal quality surveys as well. In my experience, the internal ones were more likely to be rigged by who was sampled and question wording. Yes, companies pay for the survey just like you pay for going to the Dr. to get results or pay a consultant.
The data was carefully reviewed at the Board level and somebody was held accountable for improving the problem area.
The survey that had the most value IMO was Net Promoter which isn't well understood at the consumer level. They tend to be more granular than JD Power and focus more on the customers that are pissed off. Ford's Net Promoter Score is a shambles compared to Toyota.

The block small block is the same and may share the same part number but the engine assembly is different.

The hybrid part number for Hybrid specific engine assembly according to Toyota is 19000-F4040. What are the differences? I could not say since it did not break it down but there are specific engine components, but it might be why Toyota is getting out cheap on the Hybrids is because they are not wanting to replace the whole assembly but rather the block and affected bearings. I would want the full assembly replaced if it was me. Looks to be a $20-25k part but the engines they are replacing the most of are the 3.4 liter gas burner.

Certain demographics answer surveys. Some never do.

My take is the trend in general is very unhappy customers crap talking a product and those for which a product is part of their identity defending a product against the world. So you see over sampling among the highest and lowest ranked brands.

Reality is all are more toward the middle in a much tighter dispersal.

JD Power also does vehicle value estimates, like KBB but is 20% higher. And in VA we get taxed yearly on our car value, take a guess which site the state using for taxing purposes. Took me two years before my Pro was valued under what I paid for it new.

The "Partial Engine Assembly" is going to be different from non-Hybrid to Hybrid. No one has said anything about the "Partial Engine Assembly" aka long block being the same across non-Hybrid and Hybrid. It was always contested that the short block was different and that is completely false.

The difference between non-Hybrid and Hybrid can be seen in this photo. The Hybrid is also a single accessory drive belt v. two for the non-Hybrid.

That sucks!!! I don't know where Ky. Gets values from but I bought a new Limited just back last September, MSRP was 63K, I paid 53K out the door. Truck has only been driven 1500 miles since then, 4 months. I just paid taxes for this year & the taxable value was $48k. I'll take it!

This would be why the long block assemblies coming out cannot be used in the Hybrids. Went the long way around to answer that one. It's the passenger side head that appears different. Short block would reuse the head, or hopefully include new hybrid compatible heads during motor replacement.

Right, which is why they have different procedures for the Hybird vs non Hybrid. Toyota being cheap doesn't want to replace the whole long assembly from the gas 3.4 TT when it is cheaper for them to have the tech just disassemble the gas burner and reassemble it for the Hybrid.

That is crap, if mine fails Toyota is going to replace it with the whole engine assembly as a piece.

Toyota traditionally has not made long blocks available for engine replacement. The recall seems to be the exception. I doubt they have hybrid long blocks available to do as you are suggesting.

They have a part number 194000- F4040, would imagine you could order one for 18-22k plus freight. Toyota does have a valid part number for them, although I have not checked with a dealer for availability.

I have a 2023 Non Hybrid 1794 that was built in Jan 23. It falls within the parameters of the recall but I have not received a recall and cannot get any answers out of my dealer nor corporate. Can anyone tell me if they have a Jan 23 build date and have received a recall notice. From what I understand all the non hybrid motors were built in Huntsville Alabama where I live. Any help would be appreciated.

The head is not different. There is a singular part number for the cylinder head for each side.

    EDIT: 11101-F9150 - Head Sub-Assy, Cylinder, RH
    11102-F9010 - Head Sub-Assy, Cylinder, LH

Same goes for the Valve Covers
    11201-F4010 - Cover Sub-Assy, Cylinder Head, RH
    11202-F4010 - Cover Sub-Assy, Cylinder Head, LH

they do that to all high end trucks, Raptor, TRD Pro- which is why I have a Limited with TRDOR -- all the Freels without all the over valued pain that comes along with higher end trucks.

Alright, I tried to verify this from my build sheet but could not so AI answer this question. The Hybrid iForce Max motor is made in Texas at TMMTX plant while the 3.4 liter TT gas burner is made in Alabama at the TMMAL plant. Could it be that the affected recall units mostly came from the TMMAL plant and not the TMMTX plant?

I do not know other than going from the various locations these motors are produced at.

Soooooo, same head, but different valve cover to accommodate the vacuum pump drive?

There is a singular part number for each valve cover, so no, not a different valve cover. It is more than likely different parts on the top of the valve cover, but the valve cover itself is the same.

    Looking now.
