I believe he was leasing his 2017 Platinum and was significantly upside down on it. After all the money he dumped into it building a nice rig he goes and chops it in for something else‍♂️. My guess would be a 2020 PRO of some kind.
For someone that shared every “excruciating Minutae” of his truck he omitted several things like down payment, finance, actual monthly payments, hard numbers for lease penalties, credit score etc. I feel he probably knew it didn’t make sense to lease the Tunny but did it anyway hoping to build his channel and offset the true cost. I do wish he had offered his truck on a lease take over site or even to purchase for the channel fans. All he’s done is give a scumbag dealer an awesome truck that will easily sell for $40k+

I will miss his channel and commend him for being a true enthusiast.

I assume he's making some good money off the channel. If he's out of mods to do, at least ones he wants, then he's got to find a new way to monetize his videos. Easiest way is to buy a new truck. It's all probably a business write-off anyway.

My guess he's getting a PRO...

Good for him, but he should have waited a little bit longer. I can see him trading in this Tundra when the next gen releases.

I don't begrudge anyone that turns a hobby or interest into a money making side gig, I did it with M14/M1A rifles and couldn't be happier. Good on Tundra Dude.

Interesting. I haven't seen many of his videos lately. I'll admit I watched a lot when I first got my Tundra back in 2017, but then quit watching.

Sucks being a YouTuber you have to do whatever it takes for content, I get bored watching his videos I don’t think I finished 1. I would’ve kept the truck, then save money so if the “new” tundra comes out and it is completely different then I would trade it. That’s what I’m doing now, truck is paid off and waiting for the new redesigned tundra, or I’ll trade for the supposedly “new” landcruiser that’s rumored to come out in the future.

Ok inebriated enough to say how i feel. When researching tundras this was the first guy i found. Some useful information on basics and trim models. I then found tundratalk and then this site. This site was more hospitable and user friendly. This site has tons of knowledge and entertainment. This site is my main site for tundra info and talk. However, i am still subscribed to tundradude34. I like the discussion, even if rumor, on the next gen, seeing fan submissions, and he usually comes out with current info on recalls and other news as well as some product reviews. I get the jokes and knocks on him because hes not flashy or does his own mods most of the time. But thats exactly how i started. I didnt even put my bed rails on. Had dealership do it. I was so nervous and anxious about messing up a 40k and up vehicle(first ever brand new vehicle). Which is weird because my taco i never thought twice about cutting or drilling on it. I have come a long way.

For someone just starting out with tundras or looking to buy one he has some basic info out there for everyone. Its a starting point.

I have seen a few of his videos just searching for tundra stuff on YT. Personally I'm not really a fan of watching people drone about their thoughts on this or that. It's kind of strange on some level that there is this whole thing about sticking a camera in your face and talking to an audience you can't see. But then again as I type this I suppose once you really boil it down it's not much different than any other form of video entertainment. I guess the fact that it could be your neighbor down the street and then branding their channel selling "merch" and as someone mentioned making these click bait titles just to gain subsribers is all what makes it strange. But this is the world we live in. While I don't care for this "channel" I can appreciate his apparent love for the tundra and the hobby. Doesn't make me care to watch his videos but still it's people like him that I think help the car culture in general and keep it going. But yeah if I want tundra info I'll stick to the forums. Forums are my cup of tea.

I wanted to like ole Tundra dude 34. He seems like a decent dude. One live stream, it was him streaming, and a bunch of men in chat. Apparently I butt hurt his feelings via a manly (admittedly stupid) joke. No cussing, no racism, etc. Just a joke. I got blocked, so screw that guy, nice or not.

I can't support a "Truck channel" where the owner can't take a one liner joke about transmissions. I tried to reconcile, but he blew me off. Ah well, it's the Internet. Off to new, no click bait resources on all that is TUNDRA. I tried to support him. Now I'll do the opposite. Good times!

I can appreciate informative and detailed videos on a topic or vehicle I'm unfamiliar with... but it gets really old watching people trying to keep their mug in front of a camera while they talk to themselves... professing to be some kind of expert. It's almost as if they have a mental issue and need their egos stroked to feel important.
Many dont have any hands-on mechanical ability or experience either... and it's pretty obvious to those of us who do.
