I have always wanted an Aussie-style flatbed + canopy for my Tundra. I don't want to spend $30k for it so decided to build it myself. I had no experience but eventually made flatbed in my garage with basically a $180 welder from EBay. A lot of mistakes and redos. I am sure still tons of designs don't make sense.

Special Thanks to @Cruzer for helping me to remove the bed. Super helpfully.

Feel free to ask any questions for more detail and follow my IG at Ziyes Garage for more photos.

Awesome job! I'd love a flatbed on mine.

Holy CRAP!! Soooo, no experience, just bought a little ebay welder and decided "I'm gonna' be a fabricator!" and created THAT?!

People like you piss me off!

"Ummm, I put up a shelf in the garage last night." :(

    Really well done man.

Awesome job  Using an angle iron to bend sheet metal is quite ingenious

    That is awesome... Well done...

For me... Not so sure I woulda made the bed that high... I'm thinking more like just a couple of inches up off the frame rails... But then again... I'm not there in person... Only going by pics ...

But I'm along for the ride to see finished product...

Awesome! What's it weigh compared to the stock bed?

Looks great. I'm worried about the pinch welds eventually failing on the bed of my double cab especially from rough trails and running my tent. I would definitely do a flatbed over a replacement bed and this is just how i'd want to do it. How much did the flatbed weigh being all steel?
