Isn't grade the below-SR5 trim? Like slightly nicer than a bare bones work truck? Not even the 2UZ-FE or 4X4? Pass.

It has fog lights, which could have been added, and I believe it had intermittent wipers; Variable intermittent wipers were either optional or not available on the 2nd Gen SR, correct?

That's an oddball. It has the trans temp gauge but I don't see a tow/haul button, was that even an option?

I sure do like the bench seat :)

Blue one's been in a wreck? Did you run the VIN through Carfax?

"Accident" can mean damn near anything these days; If it was rear-ended at a low speed or something, that does not bother me...

Back in 2015, I was hit by a drunk driver in my 2010 Taco; Left rear fender/bed panel and rear bumper had to be replaced and it cost about $2,200 to fix. Despite having a few minor fender benders on its Carfax report (most of which weren't my fault), and having over 143K miles on it, I could probably get nearly what my dad paid for the truck brand new back in 2009!

Aftermarket stereos tend to be better than even the best factory stereos in most vehicles anyway; I've got a JBL component system in my Tacoma that I got on Amazon for less than $90 a few years ago, fed by a Rockford Fosgate amplifier and boosted by a powered 8" Kicker sub. It kicks some serious ass!

Anyway, I like your truck; How do you like the 4.6L? My uncle has a 2012 Double Cab 2WD SR5 with the 5.7L; He bought it used, I believe it is his first Toyota ever, and he loves it! His gas mileage is atrocious, but it has proven itself to be a very solid truck. Have you ever driven a 5.7L Tundra? If so, what do you think of the 4.6L versus the 5.7L in terms of power?

Here's a similar truck here with lower mileage and weird bed mods, but otherwise similar equipment:
    https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/d/gladstone-2013-toyota-tundra-double-cab/7427910457.html

On the other hand, this one is almost a dead ringer for what you're looking at:
    https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/ctd/d/portland-2012-toyota-tundra-4wd-truck/7418137120.html

    And similar but lower mileage:
    https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/d/portland-2012-toyota-tundra-double-cab/7427564467.html

Truck prices sure are crazy right now.

My 2012 had been listed it had been in an accident on CarFax. The only damage was that the front left side of the bumper was pushed down 1/2”. The fact it was listed in an accident took $6K off the truck

That's bullshit. Probably wouldn't effect it much now...

My 2010 Tacoma with 143K miles has a couple accidents on its Carfax, but my dad paid like $14,900 for it brand new back in September 2009; Just over 12 years later, my truck with the miles listed above is worth about $12K!

My brother has the 5.7L and I’ve driven his. I didn’t notice a difference in power between the 2, but my brother says he noticed the extra 50 horses. I personally love the 4.6 because it has enough power and it’s a little more efficient than the 5.7. I’m still debating on buying aftermarket radio. Figure I would do external mods first. Haha. And yeah I love my Tundra in the fastest color. Side note: I believe the black color makes up the missing 50 horses. Probably makes it faster than the 5.7. :hattip:;)

Having owned a 2013 with the 4.6 for 8 years, there is a power difference between the 4.6 and 5.7. It's actually 310 vs 381 hp. The fuel mileage between the 2 is practically the same.

Being black also means that the air-conditioner probably has to work quite a bit harder when you first start the truck on a really hot day!

So it sounds like it's more worthwhile to buy the 5.7L if you can afford it; I've talked to a few owners of 4.0L-equipped 2nd Gens and the general consensus is that while the trucks are reliable, they are absolute dogs under hard acceleration!

Sorry derailing the thread a little bit, but I’m planning a family trip down to Florida soon. Was wondering if you know of any good 4x4 trails to go on or beaches we can drive on? And my apologies to the mods if I went about this wrong. Thanks .

The 4.6 is a solid motor. It just depends on your needs for towing, hauling, etc. The 5.7 has the advantage so that down the road, if you buy a camper, travel trailer, etc, you will be set. The 4.0 V6 Tundra is a dog. I had that engine in my very 1st Tundra. I don't know what Toyota was thinking on that one. The 4.0 is great for the 4Runner, but not the Tundra.

On hot days I just remote start my truck with the a/c on before I get in it. And as far as accelerating goes I just push the gas pedal harder. Lol

In in the interest of taking the thread off-topic in a good-natured manner, here's my daily; 2010 Tacoma 2WD with 143K miles, owned since new...

Runs and drives like new, ICE COLD A/C, about a thousand bucks invested in the stereo system, and just got a brand new frame courtesy of Toyota USA right before Thanksgiving last year!

It has always theoretically been "my truck", but my parents bought it for me when I got my learner's permit; I was 20 years old had no credit history whatsoever, so my dad bought the truck and it was in his name for the first 7 years we had it. The original selling price was like $14,900; My dad put $2K down and financed the rest through Citadel for like three years at 0.9% APR. The truck was paid off by the spring of 2013, by which time I'd had my license for two years, and then in December 2016 my dad just signed the title over to me!

That’s awesome. I’ll probably do the same for my son when he gets old enough. He’s only 9 right now.
