i am planning on putting new UCAs on my 14 Tundra. I have been looking at SPC control arms but found some tuff country control arms for a great price.

It says that they are uniball joints and they are for lifted vehicles 2”-4” and correct the geometry of the front end for alignment.

My question is has anyone used them and how are they adjustable or is that not necessary with these. I see on the SPC UCAs that they actually have a nut on top of the arm to adjust.

Is that the benifit of the uniball construction? It is just a longer arm with a different angle to correct the problem? Somebody tell me how that works. They have free returns but shipping is 25$ and I don’t want to send them back.

Thanks for your time. Hope it’s not TL;DR.

UCAs are pretty important...... You know, hold the wheel on the truck kind of important. They're not all the same and even if they say they "correct the geometry" it's not always true. I wouldn't take a chance on the Tuff Country. I've read about a lot of happy customers using SPC. @T-Rex266 for starters.
I've been through several different UCAs and IMO MCM fab has the best geometry.

Thanks for the reply man. I am just trying to get new tires and before I put the tires on I want to put new UCA on because the outside of my tread is clearly wearing faster than the inside. Local shop said he fixed it so I wouldnt notice anything and boy was he wrong. My answer was to go MAX psi to make side the middle of the tread is bearing most of the wieght. But dropping over a grand on tires I don’t want to put them on until I get the new UCA put on. My off-roading would be riding on a gravel road and maybe, just maaaaayyybbee? A deer camp road to a good plot. Other than that I am a 2 mile ride to work and a four mile ride to drop the kids off.
    Don’t need heavy duty UCA.

Again thanks for the quick reply.

I think SPC will work really well for ya. You're pretty much guaranteed good alignment #s with them. With the Tuff Country?????
I know exactly what you mean. I had my new tires for 2 months waiting for my UCAs to be made, well worth the wait though. The SPC's should be ready to ship immediately and you get a forum discount with Toytec.;)

I don’t think you can apply the forum discount to SPC’s, but IIRC it’s free shipping.

@csuviper or @T-Rex266 can tell you for sure. Toytec is pretty cool, at least every time I've spoken to 'em, and they'd probably give the discount (I think it's 10%?) just for mentioning that you're on this forum.

So I just picked up a set of Tuff Country UCAs for $40 before I really knew what brand they were or really anything else about them. The seller didn’t seem to know much, other than he got them secondhand as well… they’re in somewhat rough shape, with one ball joint pretty much shot and a bushing sleeve missing from one arm, plus some rust and chipped paint/powdercoat. My question, are these worth shit if I decide to refurb them, at least with new ball joints and bushings, and a coat of paint? Or are they worse than OEM and I should just unload them on Craigslist?
