Thanks. I broke down and bought the oem garnish earlier today. Don’t want to be taking the grille on and off trying to find an eBay one that works.

AJT, JOMAX or OEM. Been wanting to swap out my 19 platinum grill with the TRD one for awhile now. Still can't make up my mind on the relocater. Lol

If you guys don’t want to spend the money on aftermarket brackets or the ridiculous price for the OEM piece, the spot I relocated mine to is working like a charm… I just got back from a road trip to my camper in New York, drove through downpours and even a little sleet/hail… Still haven’t had a single issue or error message!

So this is what makes me think it doesn't matter where the cover comes from. If your's works through the plastic surround then any old plastic (not literally) should work. I've had the ebay one for a long time with no issues but yet others do.
    Wonder why.

Yea I figured with all the issues ya hear about with the aftermarket pieces, it was worth a shot to get creative...and figured my viewers would like it as well since I was kinda using my truck as a guinea pig...lol...the price of the OEM one is ridiculous, highway robbery...I’ll be doing a follow up for my channel in the near future, I’m convinced after all this time, and this many miles under all different conditions that this spot is perfect...didn’t cost me a dime and very easy to do!

I realize you're only a few more days out since you relocated the TSS, but how is it working? I'm considering a grill change and am concerned with the functionality of the TSS.

So after having spent many hours trying to get the sensor to work properly after multiple test drives.. I decided to try the AJT Designs relation bracket. Installed the relocation bracket and the light went off after about 5 minutes of driving. Hasn't been on since and its been about a week. I have a 6" lift and I installed the pro grille. The grille is what caused it to stop working. I put my sensor grille cover from Arescustoms and everything works properly.

I fitted the OEM garnish yesterday. Light went off almost right away.

Hey Seth!…the sensor has been working flawlessly, I have it behind the grille surround which it can easily read through (since it’s not steel or anything similar)…several of my viewers have done this as well and I haven’t heard anyone report a single issue…hope that helps!

Holy crap....look who is logged in! :D How is the family and the dog? Do anything to the truck lately? I just did the Vled tail light conversion on mine. It's nice having all 4 bulbs functional now as well as having amber turn signals.

I’ve had my sensor double sided taped to the inside of my grille shell for the better part of 3 years and 42k miles. I had problems with the oem TRD cover and 2 different A/M ones, crazy how it works flawlessly going through the lower part of the grille.

Did you read the whole post you quoted? Also if you looked at any of his recent posts you would see he hasn't had the truck you are asking about for a few years. He sold it Aug of 2022, but up until then it was working great and a few folks have done the same install and I haven't heard of any issue from doing it this way.

As Rob mentioned above, I no longer have the truck, but I had zero issues the entire time I did…and all my viewers who made the swap never had any problems either (as far as I know/remember)…hope that helps!
