Right, but you were having package questions. Google and the Toyota website are your friend when it comes to figuring out what color and packages are available. For example, I really wanted an SR5 TRD Sport in Silver Sky Metallic, BUT THEY DON'T MAKE THOSE  Color match only comes in Platinum for SSM. Had to educate myself on their packages, much like with any brand really. Toyota is actually pretty simple when compared to other brands

Any ideas why the limited trim is rated at 8800 lbs and the sr5 is rated at 9800 lbs for towing?

Kings told me the build date for the Cement Limited is September 18th. Out of all the trucks, this one is the one I’m most interested in. They told me that’s on hold for me but I’m very concerned that Toyota will cancel the order and I’ll miss out on another deal. What to do…

Car like suspension on the Limited. Status symbol. Not meant for real truck work.

Yes. They were the original dealer that was trying to get me a cement traded.

But the TRD off-road package added to the limited adds the suspension and 18” wheels to the limited, but the tow rating still is 8800

I was in Ephrata visiting inlaws and went there first. The had a MGM SR5 due but we wanted a red Crewmax. Found one locally due to be built August 27th. Tim Mimm was exceptionally helpful and wished we could have bought one there even though it's 6+ hours from home.

Tim is the guy I’m dealing with too and I agree he’s great to work with. I really was hoping they could find me a cement but Toyota stopped all pre delivery trade allocations.

"Stopped all pre delivery trade allocations." Does this mean dealers aren't able to trade amongst themselves until they actually have the vehicle on the lot? If so, this removes one small percentage of doubt in my mind. I paid the deposit Aug 4th for a dealer allocated SR5 to be built on Aug 27th. Hmmm.

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.

The tow rating is lower because the truck is heavier with the additional options.

From what I’ve been told yes. The dealers can’t trade until the vehicles are on the lots.

The sr5 and limited both have the same Gross weight rating of 7200 lbs. The combined gross should be the same between the 2 trims but as far as I know the limited is 1000 lbs less.

So I wasn't getting that warm and fuzzy feeling from Kings Toyota. While inquiring about my PA Title work, the sales manager and finance manager did not give me or my local notaries the right answers. They called back and gave me the right answer, but at that time I could not tell if they were only "telling me what I wanted I hear" or was actually being honest. They also ran my credit twice which was not needed, especially since the truck build date is almost a month out which meant deliver would be close to 2 months out, and the credit would need run again, before I purchased it. While the price was better than some, the build date wasn't until mid Sept and I was worried about Toyota delaying or canceling the order. The 8 hours (almost 500 miles) one way did not help either. To top it off I called the sales manager today and left a voicemail to call me back, explaining who I was working with and that I would appreciate a call back to put my mind at ease. The manager disregarded the request for him to return my call and passed the buck onto the salesman I was dealing with. I told the salesman I wanted to talk to the manager to reconfirm some info and put my mind at ease. Hours later, I received a call. I am sure he may have been busy, but this did not go over well with me.

I had my choices down to the Limited @ Kings or the Nightshade Limited 1/2 hour from my house.
The MGM color was my 2nd choice and I liked how the Nightshade was a limited run of 5000 made, and it was less expensive , but had less options. I may have ended up with better products this way such as Line X over the OEM Spray In and paying much less for the same tonneau cover.

But then I found 3 other dealers within 4 hours of home which I called this morning. 2 of them are charging at least $3000 over MSRP. The 3rd dealer is less than 1.5 hours away from home and has a Cement Limited coming in within 2 weeks. The build was almost perfect (See below). I wouldn't have picked the classic black running boards, but who knows, I may end up liking them. I was actually looking at the Graphite leather over the black originally. Anyone have pictures they want to share?
No discount off of MSRP, but it is much closer to home and has a couple more options. The dealer reviews are much better and I finally have that warm and fuzzy feeling.
If all goes as planned, delivery is set between Sept 2-7.
Let me know your thoughts on this deal. (I Can't believe I am about to pay this much for a vehicle)

    Exterior: Cement
    Interior: Graphite Leather
    • Limited Premium Package
    • TRD Off-Road Package

It may look expensive now but if the world continues to spin out of control and supply lines fail you will be happy to have paid the price you did!

If you compared a Ford or GM truck with the same options, $53,760 would seem inexpensive.

That last one seems nicely optioned. But my lifestyle creep at that price would pay a little more into a platinum .

Hers is graphite on my 2017 Limited. Definitely prefer it to the black or tan.

Check out post 134. I’ve put a deposit on that one and planning on picking it up as soon as it is delivered to the dealer. I’m a little anxious and excited. I know the Tundra and this V8 are pretty reliable but I’m also reading about things that go wrong too. I know any brand can have their issues and I need to stop reading too much into it.

I don’t want to do that either lol. My wife drives a 17 escape Titanium. When in had my excursion I was always reading and it stressed me out too. Don’t get me wrong, I learned a lot from the posts but I also was overthinking things too much which wasn’t good either. I eventually stopped reading the posts unless I needed to.

Only real problems I’ve seen is the extremely rare broken valve spring that can destroy the engine. Seems like most of those bad springs ended up in Lexus 5.7s but I’ve seen a few reported on the Tundras. Everything else people complain about is a joke compared the the Big 3’s problems. Have you seen the axle tube recall on the new Ford HD trucks?

What are some of the first mods I should do? I don’t want to void any warranties either. Cosmetic I’m planning on tinting the driver and passenger windows, vent visors, bug shield and possibly install the charging pad in the center console, and under rear seat storage. What about mechanical upgrades? Eventually I’ll be towing a small trailer a couple times a month for about 1.5 each way, so I’m thinking airbags and a trans cooler will be in the future. I’m sure I’ll be wanting to lift it or at least put a little bigger tire in it down the road too.

This is what I remember doing first-

    LED bulb replacement throughout interior
    TRD center caps
    823B0896-6A85-489C-8F38-9F37FE296238.jpg
Upgrade fog lights and do anytime fog light mod
    dirty deeds exhaust

you could add a real engine skid plate with oil filter access door… you have a ton of options!

This is basically the identical truck that I bought a month ago and I’m loving it. The interior color is perfect because it doesn’t get too hot. I’m keeping the TRD Off-road wheels but having them powder coated Monday before I move to a small lift and bigger tires. I’ve also got most of the paint matched parts on order to delete the chrome that comes on the Limited Trim. But so far I have zero complaints through the first 1100 miles.
