Black is a beautiful color if kept up. I have a great deal of respect for a guy who keeps it up, having owned two.

If you take your vehicles through automatic car washes forget it.

If detailing is something you rarely do to a vehicle, forget it.

My black trucks taught me all about, washing, drying, protection, weather prediction, pollen counts, water spots, irrigation sprinklers, cob webs and simply touching the paint with your finger.

I received more compliments on my black trucks than any other color……but I earned it. Lol

I'm not sure what part of the country your in, but up here there aren't any on the lots and if one comes available there are typically buyers on waiting lists. With that being said, I'd move fast if you find one you like that doesn't have dealer mark up.

I would think the exhaust and steps are dealer add ons. You might have more wiggle room on price since they probably have big markups on them.

I would 100% go with the cement ...and it looks like you'll have some cool options. I'm curious what the prices are now. Here's mine that I got in May. Great truck!

I went from washing this every week only for it to look bad a couple of days later
    IMG_4710.jpg

To washing this once a month or so. Hold out for the cement and save you some hours in your week.

Let me add this to the equation too. I will be pulling a small trailer with dirt bikes. (under 4000lbs)
As I noted above, if I went with black I would possibly consider some graphics.
Maybe not something this bold, but you get the idea.
    Thoughts, opinions?

Had a black 98 Tacoma, took good care of the paint but I will never own another black vehicle. You just look sideways at the paint and it will create spiderweb swirls.

Not to change the topic, but this is what we currently pull the trailer with and it does well.

Not around here. I called about a pro that was advertised for $54??? last week. I asked if it was still available and his response was are you familiar with the pricing? I said, I’m familiar with your price you have advertised on line, he said Add $10k to that price due to the market. I said “good by” and hung up.

I’ve debated that depending on the deals. Do you have any recommendations for dealers or know of any good deals?

Start with cars.com I’ve seen quite a few at MSRP on there. I have a deposit on one now. When I started looking I called every dealer in a 300 mile radius and asked them. If they didn’t have one I asked to be added to a list. You gotta be ready to go though. Check upstate NY, NH, western MA southern ME.

Just no to black. Frankly unless you live where is is cool and dry 98% of the time, they are just a big PITA. I owned two black vehicles in the upper midwest..they actually changed colors...bug swirly black in the summer and road salt white in the winter. Heat was not a concern though. Here is south TX...now way no how not today not ever would I go black...or brown. But if you do, no need for griddle...just get a black hard tonneau cover and you are good for grilling without gas. Heck I luv Barcelona Red and passed on that for my White TRD Sport. Luv the Sport...driving on the highway in that vehicle is pure delight.

My take is if you are not going off-road...go for the sport. You know you want that Hood Scoop and Color Matching!

Thanks for all the info and opinions. I think I’ll call the dealer in the morning and see how the search is going. Hopefully they have some good news and have a deal in the works. If not, I’ll ask him how can I reserve the sport model just in case they can’t find a Cement one. Based on on the options and price, I think I’ll be happy with the black sport model even though it is black. From what some dealers are saying, this is the last run for 2021’s and they will be even harder to find very soon.

I settled for a cement Tundra when I lost out on 2 Army Green trail Tundras because I was still debating whether to trade in my 2017 Black Tundra. After having the cement I love it!

I've always thought the sports seem to sit lower that the off road. I love the way my off road looks, but the color match on the sport looks great. I think you have 2 good options. The black looks incredible, all you have to do is wash it every 30 minutes. :)

Agreed. It takes 12-18 months to bring new capacity online for an existing factory, let alone building a new factory.
