Trump came to southwest Louisiana to talk at an LNG plant today and now our traffic is jacked up more than usual. This is at 4:00PM when most of the plants release their contract workers. I'm not gonna make it home for a few hours now.:( oh well.Capture.jpg

    LOL... Take your swamp boat!!

I have a good friend from Lake Charles. His mom sends him venison sausage and he gives me half. I use it in a Gumbo and give him half the gumbo in return.

Do you have a legit real gumbo recipe? I know I have made some. Start off with a dark roux, add stock, etc. (I used chicken and andouille sausage) and it came out pretty good (to me at least). I hope it was close to the original LOL

I've also made jambalaya that comes out pretty awesome (for me too also LOL)

it's a good start! i've seen some online and cooking shows and i cringe when i see some of the ingredients. i don't mind a creole version once in a while, but i like a typical cajun one.

well, it was at the Cameron LNG plant, but i actually had to go work on a job at Cheniere yesterday, and am actually about to leave the office and head back out there today to help someone with another job. I'm a pipe designer, so thats why i go down there from sulphur. I like cheniere, its a clean plant(should be, there's nothing to make a mess out there lol), but the stuff to get out there and all sucks. very difficult, but its done that way for safety, so i guess i shouldn't complain

I guess the timing was unavoidable... by comparison, the previous president would consistently time his trips to Atlanta so that they would totally F up PM rush hour traffic, president Trump has timed his trips to Atlanta so he is in and out between the AM & PM rush.

I spent a month in New Orleans & Baton Rouge, and the Crawfish Etouffee was my favorite.

He was in and out between most of the traffic, but being how hectic it is now and with 2 main bridges that LOTS of people use being in construction, it just screwed it up even more when the shut downs started happening. lol. and yea, i love a good etoufee!

I'm only about 20 minutes from Mar a Lago.
Of course Ocean Blvd gets detoured and shut down, but it's a small inconvenience when your doing a weekend beach day or coastal drive.
The Sheriff's deputies and Secret service keep things moving ,very professional.
