Well I did that in combination with a drop in dry filter, cutting out the permanent charcoal filter and a non waffle gasket so it wouldn't whistle at 2k rpm.

All that and..... Low end torque loss!!! Not kidding either. At first it seemed to give me power, then after about 500 miles, my truck had a hard time maintaining speed on grades without extra gas pedal. IE, low end tq loss.

So, I put back in the paper, more restrictive filter, and the truck had full power again.

Really it's the trucks computer that adjusts for the extra air flow. And not in a good way. To really make a cold air intake work, I'm thinking you will need a hypertech interceptor tuner or bullydog tuner.

Toyota pulled the max power out of the motor like it is. You might get 15-20 extra hp with mods, but more likely you will just lose low end tq. If you want real extra power, you need long tube headers and full exhaust. Or a dual in single out exhaust set up.

However, because of that air flow accelerator, I here a whoosh when I hit the gas. If I had to do it all over.... I'd leave the stock air box alone. It's already perfect for the truck.

Thanks TruckyTruck! I've done the K&N drop in, gasket replacement and charcoal delete. I believe I may have lost some MPG doing this, but can't confirm(haven't done the info switch mod on my RW to compare).

Keith discontinued (from what I read on other forums) supplying Hypertech Interceptors so a little weary of this product now.

I have a BAMuffler(budget-dual in/single out) coming in so hopefully that will compensate this.

    Thanks again!!!

Yes I forgot to mention the drop in mpg... Dropped about 2. Took out that filter and sold it. Stock filter is the only way to go. I think the only reason he is selling the bullydog only now is the price is the same as an HT. And of course you can do more with it. You just have to be careful not to brick your ecu with it....

well, the interview went well. everyone got about 15 minute. I sort of got the feeling they knew who they will hire and just wanted to talk for a second to make sure of it. lots of safety related questions. At one point the hr lady present said good to one of my answers, but unlike other interviews ive had before I got a job, I didn't get the warm and fuzzies... but who knows. This railroad business is different from other places ive gone to work. I should know something within three days. Thanks for the prayers and positive thoughts my way!!!

So I have shackles, poly bushings, half inch shims for the front coilovers and just ordered a set of light racing uca's. I need some 1.25 or 1.5 inch wheel spacers and to finally decide on the shocks and coilovers.

What I'm running into is finding the exact setup I want. I want all 4 corners to have remote reservoirs and 700 pound springs on the front coilovers. I either find the stiffer springs with no res or 600 pound springs with res. maybe I should just get a set of fat bobs coilovers for 450.00 and a set of rear 5100s for 195.00 and be done with it.

Hey guys... I got the job for a bridge welder! Man this little family needed it. It's conditional on my physical test tomorrow and health exam, but I feel good about those. Thanks for the support! It took almost a year of applying to the railroad and the last month of interviewing, but it's paid off.
