Hey Trucky, just read through all 13 pages of your build. First of all congrats on the little one  and 2nd would you change your setup in anyway if you have the chance?

P.s. that's a great looking truck you have there.

Thanks! Well... That's hard to answer. I might do two 10 inch subs instead of one 12, but I still like what I've got. As far as my suspension, wheels and tires. I love my wheels, so I wouldn't change that. The tires are perfect, but I might try the Cooper pros next time around. They are a mud tire with siping. Eventually I'll probably go with a full icon setup, but It will be after I've paid the truck off. And of course, eventually I'll do bumpers, winch and projector headlights.

I have a set of cats that I plan to build into midpipes and install headers. But.... Magnuson just released a supercharge tune for flex fuel trucks... I'd love a charger, but to finish my exhaust would be about a grand, vs 7k for a sc. So, I'll probably just do the headers.

    But that's about it.

Oh, and I really wish I could use my bullydog tuner, but they don't have the most updated flex fuel programming for our trucks. I've thought about selling it to a non ffv owner, but I'm hoping they will get the updates. It really gave my truck a nice bump in low end tq.

That's it? Modest are we

So for now, are you enjoying the FB coilovers? I'm looking to get a set and it seems you're the only one I found that's running these.

That was my modest answer.... Ha

They are OK. When I bought mine they didn't have an option to have bilstiens installed in them. So if you get some, it will probably be worth it to pay a little extra for the better shock. I bought mine knowing I would eventually get a better set up, but I wanted adjustability. So they were a better option than spacers. Honestly I could probably run these the life of the truck and not be unhappy with them.

Hey Gary... I saw this on Keith's FB page a few days ago? Could you get these updates on to yours? I'm in line for those Cooper Pros too. I still have a lot of tread to wear first on the S/T Maxx's.Screenshot_2016-02-15-22-15-34.jpg

The update for 2nd gens fixing ffv trouble ends in 600. They don't have an update for 3rd gen trucks for some reason. I actually tried the bd update for 2014s before they even released the tune to the public. This is what they told me anyway. And sure enough, my truck went into ethanol mode the first time it got cold out.

That's a bummer totally. You mentioned in another post something about a Supercharge Tune by Magnuson. What's that entail?

They have an actual flashed tune for thier supercharger now for ffvs. Definitely the way to go. People have good and bad luck with the stand alone tuner on ffv trucks. And bullydog is trying to do the same for the edelbroch charger that's coming out.

Well, I've sent an email to bullydog detailing out what they need for programming and asking them for my final time on an ETA, if at all. So if they don't have something soon, I think I'll be putting this tuner up for sale to a non ffv owner.

I should probably put my money towards finishing my exhaust, but driving all these dark country back roads and noticing how lacking all the lighting is on my truck, I've decided to do something about it.

Monday, I'll be ordering some front lights from Bailey at Baja designs.

Reverse lights I'm going to try. If these don't cut it, I'll get some lights like csuviper has on his truck.Screenshot_20160423-150544.jpg

Probably a ridiculous amount to spend on front parking lights, but this will be part of my retrofit I'll be attempting soon. I bought full amber, not wanting them to change to white.

Spoke with Bailey at Baja Designs and ordered a set of lights this morning. Hopefully they will get here by the weekend.

I'll be installing these tomorrow. One thing about my truck I've never been happy with is the fog light housing and of course the lame stock fogs. I never have mine turned on because they shake if I hit bumps on the road and people think I'm flashing them. When I pulled the plastic off on the back of the bumper to remove the housing today, i see why that is. Man, talk about a flimsy setup from toyota.

So I spent a little time today making some steel brackets that will attach everything fairly solid. Not to mention make it harder for a thief to get my lights off. They would have to bring tools rather than simply pulling the lights out if the front of the bumper, which is basically all you have to do to get the stock setup out. Now they will be bolted to the inside bumper brackets and won't be bouncing around. I also felt like some of the washers sent in the mounting kit were too small, so I used larger ones. Here's some pics of what's going in. Hopefully, they work as well as I hope they will when lit up.

Well guys... I screwed up pretty good. Luckily, Bailey at Baja Designs took care of me. I had my lights adjusted and was rocking along until today. I was rinsing the dog slobber off of my truck today after I had taken my Dane for a ride in the truck bed. I got around to the lights I installed to rinse them down and get bugs off. That's when I noticed the passenger side was fogged up. Man what a bad feeling. I took the light out and realized the lens near the screws was cracked just enough to let moisture in. Talk about a sick feeling. I took both lights out because I had torqued the screws down to tight and the lenses cracked and wanted to make sure I didn't do that to the other light. When you install the lights with a fog light kit, you have to remove the original bezel from the light and replace it with the bracket. The other light looked fine and there was no moisture, but I took it apart. Sure enough, there were cracks. On the light where there was moisture, the water that got in stripped a little of the chrome from the reflective bowl. Talk about a bull in a china shop. I felt like a dummy and sick too. Fortunately it wasn't worse and the damaged bowls can easily be replaced along with new lenses. I hand tightened the lenses, thinking I was being very careful, but I missed the part in the instructions saying only use 8 pounds of pressure. :smack: I did pay for new lenses, including some yellow ones just in case I ever want to swap them, but Bailey is sending me new reflector bowls without charging me for them. Pretty nice of him if you ask me. Moral of the story... read the directions twice.

On the plus side, I did the anytime fog light mod yesterday. When it got dark, I went out to see just how bright the lights were without my headlights on. I could barely even tell I had headlights on! Then I hit the bright lights with the fog's. The brights barely went past these Baja lights. So I'll definitely be doing a retrofit. Our tundra lights aren't that great it seems. I'm pretty anxious to get the lenses back on and installed into place.

Man those lights are awesome. I am saving now. Might not spend the extra for the pro though. Hoping the sport driving combo are what I want for keeping them on during normal night driving.

Yeah the light output is serious. I can't imagine having one of thier light bars. I do turn mine off when I've got incoming traffic, but most of my driving is on country roads and a lot of night/dark driving.

Oh here is my little mess I made. From the look of the cracks in the lenses, you would think I used a ton of force, but I just did them hand tight. Guess my 'hand tight' was a little more than 8 pounds. I'll be using a small tq wrench to make sure I don't exceed that number next time.

Bummer, glad you got it worked out.

So just to clarify, it was just over torquing when switching from standard bezel to the fog light bracket?

Yes. The lights were perfect before I got my mitts on them. I just missed the part about how much pressure to use.
