I think it's mentioned in here, somewhere but with the BD tuner, what mode do you have it on?

Edit: still running it in trail mode?

Yes, trail tune, performance shifting and performance throttle. I'm still so impressed by it too.

Yeah I have to even admit myself sometimes it's just a thrill hit and open road and punch the throttle and just hear the beast roar!! What's your mpgs like with the trail tune?

I have been avg 13.5 but with a very heavy foot. Tonight I had to make a 90 mile drive and decided to see what my mpg would be if I didn't run it hard. I avg 65-70 mph and came thru several towns that had stop signs and lights. I drove reasonable with acceleration, but on the lighter side. My ending avg mpg was 15.9

Not bad for 35s that weigh 80 pounds a piece.

The only real performance upgrade I've made is true dual exhaust. And basically, the exhaust by itself does virtually nothing for performance except for a little better overall 0-60 time. I bought the duals thinking one day I would do headers. That was about 2 years ago.

But I'm wondering if the duals went well with the tuner. It's such a big difference in overall torque and mpg gain.

I bought the tuner specifically for headers that I plan on installing. This particular tune was developed for having headers and safe afr numbers.

With the tuner in trail mode, are you able to :burnrubber: easier with those tires?

Yeah I've been thinking of doing a true dual set up myself. I think it did work well with the tuner reason I say that is because I live in Houston been in Corpus for work. And all the times I've driven it thus far best I've seen is 17mpg, and my truck is all stock, with a bad cat and tow mirrors. And tow tune.

    Nice! What settings?

I also reset my transmission learning pattern, did the zpc, and one click lock and unlock for the doors.

Kept it on trail mode with performance shifting for now. Haven't messed with everything else.

I shouldn't need a battery charger on it if I plug it back in and adjust the settings, right? Just during initial install?

Best to always plug up to battery charger honestly just to ensure it doesn't drain the battery.

Do you need to do the hyper tech speedo fixer thing if you do the bully dog?

No, only time you would need a speedo calibrator is if you did lift, tires, or both.

Then yes you technically need the speedo calibrator but only if you want accuracy mph other than that you can put a bully dog on it and it will be fine.

It may do more than just adjust the speedo but as far as putting a bully dog on it you can do it and be fine.

So in my case, I would need both? I still have the HT speedometer calibrator, just not installed- yet.

Well funny Sean your the one that told me to look into it for my truck. Lol

To me personally it's a matter of opinion of what you really want, I personally would just go with a BD tuner cause I mean afterall we're not buying these trucks for economy purposes lmao

The bullydog adjusts shift points, so if your shift points are wrong in the first place from 35s, which they will be, you probably should use the hypertech. I installed both.

Yeah I would use the charger every time too. Sean, did you set the throttle to performance? I'm liking it that way.

Have you had a chance to get on it since the install?

Without the speedometer calibrator your speedo and mileage will be incorrect.

Just the shift point. What setting did u put at throttle?

Kinda...spun on some corners decently, but it's also raining in Denver so not a fair review.

It's always hard for me to stay out of it when it's on performance for throttle cause you know the power is there.

When you have the shift in performance does it shift firmer or anything? Just curious cause now I am thinking of doing the trail tune haha

I tried it first with stock throttle, but switched to performance. It's a little more touchy than stock but not much.

Yes!!! If you had this tuner with all settings stock and performance shift alone, it would be worth doing. Firm shifts and no lazy feeling.
