I got a nice little quarterly bonus today. I've been eyeing a CZ Scorpion EVO 3, will almost definitely get an SBR stamp for it when I get one. Should I buy guns or truck stuff? If I buy truck stuff what should I buy?

    Remaining on my list:

    • Front Bumper (waiting for a possible holiday sale @ Relentless Fabrication)
    • Exhaust (I'm not too educated in this area, but see a lot of people recommending Dirty Deeds)
    • Behind-Grille LED Light Bar ($1000 bones for a strip of LEDs in a water/dust proof enclosure seems ludicrous. I feel I should start manufacturing these and retire early)

What say you, Tundras.com? Guns or truck parts? Any mods I'm not considering that I should look into?

That's actually a really hard decision.
I'm leaning toward the front bumper (I'd love one) with the Scorpion a close second.

Guns are the better investment. Not sure if the SBR will be a range toy or a tool you will carry daily. If it's a tool, I say a gun no doubt.

If you go with truck parts, TRD and Dirty Deeds exhaust all seem to have a cult following.

I have another AR-15 SBR I built, I have many, many firearms... I like to SBR because now I can do pretty much anything with it, pistol to rifle and back. It would, barring some catastrophic event, be a range toy.

This was my last build. I have a bunch of stripped lowers and uppers, and parts kits for both that I haven't done anything with yet because I'm living in a crummy little apartment while my house is being built.

Tough call, but how many guns can you carry if need be? Sounds like you might possibly have a "few" already.

I would either invest or save it in a IRA...but that is just me.

Then again, I am the only loser on this forum without a truck since I sold mine right before winter in CO. (High 5 myself)

If you already own 10+ guns... get exhaust. If you own 9 guns or less... Scorpion. No one really needs more than 10 guns, but you're going to get a lot of enjoyment out of an exhaust.

I don't mean to start anything, but I don't understand all the rhetoric out there about guns. I don't own a gun and wouldn't want one in my house with the kids. However, I defend the right for every law abiding person to own a gun and use it lawfully for hunting, sport or self defense. Why does the extreme left think every gun owner is bad and the extreme right think that they have to stock up on them like they're running out? I don't think there is any threat of banning gun sales. The industry makes too much money. I think all the special interest money should go to Tundra owners. Think of all the mods we can do!

We stock up because nearly every law aimed at "protecting" us erodes our rights to own a specific type of gun or a broad variety of them. Most guys on here are old enough to remember the Assault Weapons Ban from 94-04.

I'm certainly NOT the "extreme right," and I own multiple firearms (over 10, @joonbug :infantry:). If ever there were an economic collapse, guns and ammo will be more valuable than gold. I'm not really scared of this happening any time soon, but it's prudent to be prepared for any possibility. I believe every family should have at least 3 months of food and water storage as well. Nothing at all wrong with being prepared for the worst but expecting the best. I also feel that guns are a sound financial investment; those who had pre-ban comm block firearms, or fully auto firearms before bans went into effect were grandfathered in and skyrocketed in value. I already have some milsurp firearms that have increased significantly in value between now and when they were acquired.

Mostly, though, I really enjoy firearms from a sporting and also an engineering standpoint. I like building firearms from the ground up, I like taking them apart and improving them, I like shooting them, I like cleaning them, etc. I absolutely respect your decision to not own firearms, and I wish more people who made that choice were more like you and recognized the rights of people who do make the decision and take on the responsibility of legally and responsibly owning firearms.

Fab your own ring mount and pin a Ma Deuce BMG to it. Pop up through your sun roof and let the left wingers have it. Best of both worlds, you get a cool mod and a cool gun too!

I know for a lot of guys they like to keep the guns they have to pass down or sell if/when they really need the money. Then they slowly buy a new one every few years for a different purpose or for something new, etc. They all add up over time, but all but a few are secured and just sit.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the guys I know that own a lot of firearms never bought multiple firearms at once just to have a lot of guns because 'Murica.

The main concern for most is the fact that the antigunners will never stop demanding for more gun laws.. First it's to have restrictions on who can own, then the type of gun, then where you can carry, then what type of bullet, then when you can use it (even during a home invasion/robbery etc), then higher fees for licenses, then longer wait times for licenses, then stricter rules on who can own a gun, then more lax rules on revoking a license ( think jaded partner who files a restraining order) then pass a law making gun companies liable for mass shootings and murders, then......... All in the name of making society safer, even though these laws don't affect the gang members, criminals and bad guys because they don't follow the law.

It won't stop until it is utterly impossible to own or obtain a firearm..
