Get the 8’... I can clear under 6’9” barely with a 4.5 BDS, but it’s a touch scary. It’d be nice to have the extra clearance

Let's say that down the road you have the itch to put on a 6" lift, what will you do then? Do it once, cry once.

Go with the 8 ft for sure! Tell the wifey that $600 -$1500 over the life of your home loan will be minimal as opposed to the disappointment you will feel if you can't fit your truck inside.

I went with the 8' garage and gave her that logic, and she was still not having it. In all I got the lift, but not the extension to the garage. She would rather I spend the 3 grand on other home improvements, especially since I don't have a rich relative that wants to help out

Take one for the team. Tell her that 3,000$ over 30 years is like 9$ a month. So if you can have the garage extension, she can have a 3,000$ upgrade herself and 2 square feet of the garage in the corner.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Any extra depth would be great too. 22-24' would allow you to walk around the truck when in garage.

We built our house last year, closed at the end of January 2017. I paid for the 8' tall garage door and have been thankful for that decision on multiple occasions. With a 3" lift and a roof rack I was still able to sneak the Tundra in.

Now with a lifted 4runner, roof rack, and a bunch of crap on the roof I can still get in. This allows me to load cargo up in the garage (shorter walk when bringing stuff up from the basement) and exit the garage after I'm loaded. Absolutely worth the $1200 it cost me.

Damn I cant even get mine in the garage, I have a Sequoia and a Tundra. When I had the Sequoia and the Tacoma they would fit in my garage.
    California size garage LOL

7 foot door equals tight squueze.

    If I built, I wouldn't put a 7 foot door in.

Your wife is crazy, $3,000 for more square footage is the obvious answer. Doesn't matter the room of the house, its one of those things you can't really upgrade once its built. Put in an all in one piece tub instead of custom tile work, buy cheaper appliances, hold off on buying new furniture for a few years, put carpet in a few rooms you were doing hardwood floors, don't finish off a bedroom or something(use it as storage).

This argument kind of reminds me of my best friend's house across the street, I helped them remodel the basement when I was 17-18. His dad was just so fucking pissed at the people who originally built the house back in the late 70's, really big, nice ranch house, 2800sq ft on the main level, basement was the same size but about 1/3rd of it was the garage. Anyways, ceilings in the basement were low, like standard 8'. Only thing was the huge main trunk line for the HVAC ran smack down the middle of the basement, clearance under it was like 6'. It just pissed us all off to no end, that the original builder could have spent an extra $1000 on block and a half day's labor, dug that basement about a foot deeper and avoided this problem.

I guess my point is to anybody building a house, build it right the first time, spend the extra $$$ on stuff you can't change once its built.

Does anyone know the maxout height on Icon 2.5 coilover?

I’m currently at 19 threads showing. Measuring the threads shows a little over 2inches. 39F8BA9F-A58D-495A-9018-7565478DDED7.jpg

I'm at 81.5". 3/1 on 295/70r18s. I have about 2" to spare. With the sunroof in 'vent' mode it clears a rubber seal flap by about 1/2 inch. I wish I had an 8' garage.
