    No, it's not normal. The first time I took it in for the rattle/banging, the service guy blew me off and said it was the same as other new Tundra's on the lot. Told him it was bullshit and asked for the head of the service department. I walked the lot with the boss and checked 3 other trucks, 2 of them had the same issue, 1 did not. He said he would get back to me. A few weeks later he said that Toyota is aware of it and is working on getting the upgraded hinges. Took 4 months of waiting but it is done and does not rattle/bang every time you hit a small bump. Here is the part number.

    When I say it's not normal, tailgate shouldn't rattle like that. New Tundra's have a few issues. This being a big one, glad they took care of me. I have 3 other minor issues and I'm waiting on parts. Toyota has always come through for me. Love my truck. :muscleflexing:.

    I mean, what's the point of suspension if you're relying on your frame and bed to do the shock absorbing...
