Trouble pumping gas, Help!!

I have a 2017 crew max 5.7. The last few times I have tried to pump gas I can only pump like 10 cents before it stops!! Anyone have this issue? I have went to multiple gas stations so it’s not the pump.

Tow it to the dealer. Let them fix it. Should be under warranty no?

I found a tampon stuck wedged in the filler neck check ball once. (Chevy)

 

Same thing happened in my 2018 crew max. The check valve on the filler neck gets stuck. In order to fix it the dealer swaps out the tank with fuel pump and filler neck. Should be covered under warranty.

 

I have an appointment tomorrow, I doubt they will fix it in one day though

 

Insert your pump nosle upside down. Ie, have the bottom handle facing up. That should do trick. I use to have this issue lots with my Mustang Gt.

 

OP - Aside from the known issue with the valve; Have you recently used any fuel additives?

I ask bc I once had the little paper tab from the cap of a bottle of fuel additive fall out of the cap and float perfectly into the filler. Couldn’t do that again if I tried 10M times!! But I digress.

I had to disassemble the filler hose from the tank. There’s a large mesh screen about 1-1/2” down in the tank inlet (that the filler-hose attaches to). Fortunately I was able to get it out.

 

Then they need to give you a loaner..

This will also happen if you are trying to fill up when your tank is SUPER LOW... especially when driving well after the “0 miles til empty.” This has happened to me before and I will usually stop pumping, turn the truck on for about 30 seconds, then fill up again.

It’s a known issue. Pain in the effing A. Keeps happening to mine. Lasts about a week and then randomly goes away. I have to trickle in the gas.

 

Never added anything besides normal fuel

try twisting it gansta style???? to the side, sometimes this helps, but if its under warranty, then that works best.

 

I found a gas can lid and a lego in a filler tube before .

Thats cheap priced I will pick one up. Ive used a nice expensive HVAC one. Thats how i diagnosed that vehicle .

 

I use them at work all the time ($300+) but would be nice to have one at home for $14 lol

 

I had 30,000 miles when it first happened too. BUT, I was one month over the warranty. Didn’t cover it of course.

 

Would love that as well. Someone post a video so that we can see the quality!!!

Update- they are installing new gas tank tomorrow and covered under warranty
