Thanks. With a Dap tune on mine, I’m curious if it’s worth doing this mod.

Ricardo, did you silicone around the new pipe or is it fairly snug?

I did use black weather strip just because where the coupler joins the filter box even though it's very snug

For intake? Just oem paper filter for now. Used to have k&n but removed it due to sand packing it off during dune trips. I just got a good deal on an AFE magnum stage 2 with a dry filter I will be trying out. I will add the sabm like @Rica25 has. But to the afe box. I also will be installing a prefilter under my bumper on the initial air intake from the exterior of the truck to avoid sand and debris entering the fender well intake portion. I’ll do a write up once I get to install.

I had the AFE Magnum stg2 Dry and felt a loss in low end personally. It was a slug off the line and MPG's dropped from 14.8 mixed to 13.5. I swapped to their Super Stock system and got that snappiness back with a gain to about 15.9 mixed while keeping the power increase noticable. I also added the TRD accelerator and eye balling the SABM next.

I would go for the SABM. I felt no loss at the low end only gain in the mid to upper range.

I have the S&B. Has a whistle and i just took it off to oil at 88k miles. No dirt inside or anything. Good enough for me but I bought it with this inatalled but doubt theres any gain from it. I love having a filter you can clean... Just do what @ARamirez73 said and keep a spare or realize you wont drive for a day at least. Degrease, wash, dry for 24hrs, oil, wait a bit, drive.

I changed the gasket out on mine today, took less than 10 minutes and completely eliminated the whistle for me as far as I can tell. Previously around 2000rpms it was present with a K&N system. Gasket cost $7 in Canada so it’s a cheap fix.

Yup. I've been reading on many forums and Amazon reviews that the throttle body gasket with the screen is the culprit for whistle when changing intakes or aftermarket filters.

Its Throttle body ... you need to see your dealer and replace the gasket without the screen in it .... just gasket.. good luck

The part number is 22271-50050 it’s 7 dollars, you’d have to remove the throttle body from the housing it has four bolts and pops out easily, and pops in but you’d never go wrong getting the dealer to install it like they said, but me being me I did it myself haha,

Bnutzbenny provides the part number and Amazon link. That is where I bought mine. Very easy to change and I cleaned the throttle body while I was at it.
