Well let me know about that. My truck will be here in a couple weeks and I want to buy these. Where are you located?

Nevermind. You are too far and shipping them would be insane. All good and good luck with the truck!

    Thanks for the great information.
On the trd models is the bottom of the running board smooth like a tube style step? Or convex like an older style aluminum running board.
Looking at a used set online and new from dealer but tough to confirm what I’m actually looking at online.
    Thanks

Update. Installed the trd boards this afternoon

Does anyone know if the trd aluminum running boards will fit a 2021? Maybe someone that had a second gen tundra can chime in? I really like the look of these and the fact that they’re aluminum is amazing… I live in the rust belt and steel steps get eaten up. Tbh, these are the only aluminum steps I can find for the tundra. I saw some trd aluminum ones for the second gen double cab, but not the crew max, except these for the third gen. Any help would be awesome

I hate running boards but I feel like I need em now that I added the 3” trd lift. I’m torn between the 500 tube and the 1000 trd. This truck is getting expensiveeeeee LOL. I’m amazed I’m not seeing more used on the market, when I was looking for my Tacoma it seemed there were hundreds of em used everywhere lol

I'm super anti-running board but now that mine is lifted as well I pulled the trigger and got the TRD's. 1100 shipped to my door.

We are having a bit of a similar discussion over in AMP board thread, but if you guys have never used fixed boards before, beware. I literally cannot get into the driver's seat from fixed boards... and just barely can from GoRhino E1 boards, since they have a very minimal drop from the body. Both of these position me far too high to comfortably get my right leg under the steering wheel, if at all. And then the fall down to the seat is awkward. And I am no freak at 6'1", but have long legs. It's one thing to get up on the boards, which is easy, but what can you do once there, except maybe wax the roof? Everybody is built different and I am sure they work for some folks. But try some before you take the plunge. If you have a Tundra trim with the seat memory feature it will be easier if you set an advantageous entry/exit position for the seat and wheel. But my SR5 doesn't have that.

Just got my TRD running boards today. They are niiice. Seeing them in person, the 1k price tag makes sense.

I had power running boards on my 2017 F150. One of the many items that failed multiple times on that truck. I replaced the motors once with knock-off aftermarket motors just so they'd work occasionally when my wife or daughter needed them. The Michigan winters took a toll on the motors and mechanisms. I spray them constantly with Silicone... They were awesome, when they worked the first 3 years. There is a reason you see people driving SUVs and trucks around with one down, one up... etc.

I'm having these install for my Platinum white TRD off-road. Are these still the preferred TRD running boards? Also ordering a PT954-34223 Tonneau tri-fold cover. Is this a good choice for durability/Protection/ease of use?

I really like my TRD running boards. Just big enough to be useful but not so big they look obtrusive.

Hey guys, are these TRD running boards adjustable in the mounting positions so you can mount them further or closer to the truck?

No, they don’t have slotted brackets to adjust in/out.

Would you say these mount pretty flush with the truck? I'd like them high and tight as possible

I want to know if these 2024 TRD Pro running baords will mount on a 2.5 gen truck. I saw these and just wondered if they would fit my 2020 TRD Pro or are the mounting brackets different?IMG_4757.jpg

For those of you with the TRD running boards, would you describe the boards a dark black or more of a dull black? My Tundra is black so looking for something dark black to match the truck's paint. Or at least not look noticeably different in color.

I saw a set of what appeared to be TRD running boards on a white Tundra in a parking lot recently, but the boards were very dull looking, almost like an off black. Not sure if the boards were just very dirty, or faded out from the AZ sun, but what I saw did not look great in person.

    Thanks in advance.

They’re a dark matte black. When they get dusty or dirty they may look lighter than they really are. If you keep them clean they look good. They’re by far the sleekest running boards for the tundra. I went through Go Rhinos and Rough Country running boards before I got the TRD’s. TRDs blow everything else out of the water.

I might be interested in your running boards if you decide to sell them. I have Rhino boards but would rather have the TRD boards. I can pick them up in ABQ if you want to sell them.
Edit: Nevermind, just noticed @vomhorizon posted 23’

Figured I'd ask here instead of posting a new thread but can someone explain why power running boards/auto steps can't be offered from factory on TRD off-road trucks?
I actually work for a Toyota unit plant and plan to order my next lease vehicle soon (Currently in a blueprint '23 Platinum and LOVE this truck, but it was a 2 year lease). My favorite feature is the steps, mainly for the wife and kids but at 6'4" I've found myself starting to appreciate them.

I've wanted to go TRDOR next but the steps aren't available and that's possibly a deal breaker. So, I could add aftermarket AMPs it seems like but curious why those work, but OEM power steps aren't a thing.

*Another fun fact - you can't get Terra on the 2025's unless you add TRD off-road lol. Which means, to get Terra... I can't get power steps. Every year there's some silly caveat like this that just makes me o_O

TRD off road especially like to put parts that are "Off Road", hence a power running board doesn't necessarily fit that trim theme. I could see them on a capstone or a 1794 trim (luxury trims).

Without starting a new thread also, do these boards stick out enough to prevent door dings from other cars? (I cant tell from pics but it looks like it may not be wide enough?)

I prefer to have my boards stick out pass the door panels. I live in the city, and parking spots are really really tight.

It sticks out far enough to prevent some dings but if you have a little lift that helps too.

No problem it’s easy to install even if you don’t have anyone helping you and the bolts should come with the truck already underneath.

I know this is a super old thread, but everyone still happy with these? Thinking I’m going to return the Go Rhino RB20s I bought to Real Truck and grab these, but really only because of how low the hardware hangs on the RB20s. I’m really worried to get hung up on the hardware, as the pieces that hang down seem like they’d drag/get caught pretty easily? Any thoughts from y’all that have the TRD ones, would you say it’s worth cleaning/wrapping these up and sending them back for the TRDs? Sounds like they’re even nicer in person.
