    Dumb question,

Can I put a TRD sway bar on my 2017 CM 4X4 CM before I put a new suspension, tires and wheel or would it be best to way being the truck will be leveled or would that matter.

Would it help any now, before I get the level and wheels!

I don't know, but I don't think it will matter, it should be as beneficial with the stock setup or a small lift. ..

The extra washers are to be used only if you don't have a factory hitch. They are to provide the extra thickness needed for the links to be in correct position if the hitch is not there

You can install it anytime. It's gonna help stock or smallish lift.

You'll just end up with 4 extra washers. I've got the tow package too.

Yup. It's easy. I did mine in my driveway at night with a work light. I took my time following the directions, it was a breeze. I heard of some having a hard time removing the frame bolts, so I used a breaker bar right from the start on them, they loosened up no problem.

Thanks, I'll get a breaker bar, I bought the torque wrench for the TRD exhaust but didn't know how to use it so I just went old school and tightened by sense lol

    Flux capacitor!
If anyone wants a rear sway bar on a bigger lift like 6"-8". You can send the two end links to ekstrom designs and he will extend them for the additonal lift. He usually charges $75 for this but you will need to repaint or re powder coat them after he is done. I did this on my truck and I still notice the difference of having the rear sway bar on my 7" lifted truck.

Got my sway bar on order and its already supposed to be here tomorrow (thanks Roman).

Pondering whether I want to go ahead and throw it on there myself in the next few weekends whenever I have some spare time or just let Toyota put it on there @ my upcoming tire rotation in a few weeks.

Any special tools needed for this job? How long should it take me in beers? 1-2-3?

1 beer. 19mm, 22mm and a good breaker bar. Easy job! And a torque wrench.

If you still have the torque wrench you can always loosen all the bolts a bit, then correctly torque them in the right order.

It's easy, we can explain how to use it. I know we did in another thread, not sure who started the thread, if it was you, disregard.

Just go down to your local harbor freight, buy an electric impact wrench for like $40-$50 bucks, I use it all the time,.great for taking your wheels on and off especially during winter (winter wheels). It takes 5 seconds each to get the 2 frame bolts off. The rest of the time should only take you 30 mins or so, it's so easy. Don't pay toyota If you don't have to.

Also you don't even have to take your wheels off to remove the frame bolts, I just jacked up the truck a little and access was super easy.

That's good advice. I have an air impact wrench but rarely use it for small jobs like this because I don't want to fill up the compressor for something that I can quickly do by hand. If I had an electric one I bet I would use it more often, saving time.

I bought one last year to change the tires on one of my trailers and it made the job easy. Now I use it all of the time (used it to remove the tow hooks when I installed my TRD Pro Skid Plate and the frame bolts for the Sway Bar). Very handy.

I to had straighten out the truck bed (major OCD) since toyotas QC is so stellar, the impact wrench was so nice to loosen them up so fast. It's definitely money well spent. How's the skid plate install going chuck BTW.

Thanks Moto, I did start it,

I do have a impact for my compressor!

But I brain is like scrambles eggs trying to figure it out, lol I tried to set it to the N-fab and trd exhaust specs but don't think I did so I just tightened till it felt right.

I probably will stop by a auto zone or shop and have them show me.

If you have time, I can PM you if thats ok I just cant seem to get it, lol!

No problem. This 8 minute video should do the trick. I know it's 8 minutes but it's probably less time than driving somewhere.

Done. Last hardware kit was complete and install is done (finally). I do have some extra bolts now and can send that middle one to you if you need it. PM me your address and I'll send it to you.

Installed an A.R.E. Cap on my truck yesterday. Weighs about 200 lbs. Extra up top weight has really increased body roll. Thinking of installing trd rear sway bar to help. Any thoughts?

the extra washers I think were to shim the frame mounts if you did not have a hitch.

The sway bar is a great upgrade even without the cap. I load the heck out of my truck and it does great. BFCF165C-1EBC-4216-BB39-AB1ED25D8373.jpg
