They did not do anything special. They asked if I wanted it sanded smooth, spray enough coats to cover the pattern, or leave the pattern showing.

Thank you for the help. How’s it holding up? It looks great in the picture.

What did you end up doing? Any pictures? I’m really wanting to do this upgrade but I wish I could see one before. I ordered the overlays for the front from chrome stoppers and the cammo bumper piece for the fog lights. Still undecided about sticking to cammo or WCP or maybe even gloss black including the Trd Pro grille.

It’s holding up great. I just had the camo flares painted so the pattern would be visible. Same for the camo bumper piece. I will say if you have the chrome bumper piece just realize that it is rigid plastic compared to the flimsier camo piece. IMG_1724.jpgIMG_1442.jpgIMG_1070.jpg

Do you happen to have any pictures by chance. The Mesquite looks really nice but not sore how the WCP would look since it’s a lighter color.

Is that the CBI covert bumper with the grill protector? Does it block your camera views in anyway, or sensors, 360 view, radar cruise, etc.? I want to order it but could never make my mind up on that option I kind of want it but looks like it would block the camera view or at least cover some portion (which I want to avoid as I use it allot).

love the painted flares makes me what to do that on my MGM.

    See this thread:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/cbi-covert-bumper-installation.113766/

To sum it up, it does not block enough of the camera to matter and all sensors work fine, now. I will say that I will never buy one of their bumpers again. They do not stand behind their product and the powder coating in crap. I’ve been fixing my rust spots with Rustoleum on a $1200 bumper. One day I will remove it for a quality powder coating job.

yeah thanks good to know, I should look at something else. That scorpion one in the thread you shared however is typical issue I see allot “doesn’t fit hybrid” per their site? I have seen that a few times when looking for stuff. Also seems like allot of issues wanted to build my own trail hunter version but rethinking the bar, if it bolted on like you said the sequoia model does maybe it if not nah, I’ll pass maybe by time I save up for bumper there will be more options.

So been reading and watching on the Pro Flares for my Platinum. Found them for $67.13 each (thought that was a good deal) and thought the shipping would destroy the deal (most do). Well found them and the shipping quote came back $7.58 for all-yeah something wrong there! Pulled the trigger thinking it would get cancelled but it didn't. Got them today in four separate boxes (FEDEX) BUT they shipped to two left rears. Can't anything go smooth:frusty: Just when you think is really going your way. Guess back to waiting.

    Lots of stuff!
I asked the guys at Sparks to check the flares before shipping to make sure I didn't get to left rears. They told me that the correct ones were in each box. Shipping from South Carolina to BC is a long way to have the wrong part show up!

I know this is old but did you ever end up using the diode dynamics harness to tap into? Trying to figure out the 3 wire (red, blue, black) that comes off their adapters to see if one is suitable for power and make sure it’s not like a high/low power for a brake light or something.
    Using this harness specifically

edit it’s the blue wire for running lights

I read through all the posts and saw one question, but didn't see an answer. Do the TRD Pro fender flares fit on a crew max long bed?
    Thanks,
    Matt

Yes, all wheel wells are the same, bed length has nothing to due with it.

I don’t believe so but it really doesn’t matter what kit or adapters you use as you can make the wiring as straightforward (or complicated) as you like. The easiest solution is to tap into the tail lights for the rear and the running lights for the front.
The instructions for R are attached and the video I used as a reference is below. Be advised that on my truck, the front wires I needed to tap were the middle and solid color wire, not the outers like he did so make sure you have a tester. For the rear lights, I used a 7pin dual output trailer harness from diode dynamics.

You can’t tap into the running lights of the headlights if you have premium headlights. I’m wiring mine to a 7 pin to 4 pin harness. Super simple. If you want them on all the time when the truck is in you could also run an add a fuse to the fuse box.

I haven’t installed mine yet, still waiting for the flares. But after a bunch of research, I am wiring them all the a 7pin to 4pin harness. This way no oem wiring is tapped/damaged. I am using deutsch y connectors, and connectors so everything looks oem, and on one harness.

Chrome delete and more to come WIP …. Lol
You can wire them to the fuse box in the front , eng igr 1 for passenger side and eng igr 2,3,4 I think you have choice (7.5 fuse) on driver side
They will stay on whenever your truck is on , kinda like how marker lights should be .
If you order the wiring harness from rave off road it was the easiest for me to do , I did have buy an extra fuse tap from the local auto part store , as I did not want to run the driver side wiring all the way to the passenger side to tap into.
I am still waiting on rear fenders but the rear wiring is all plug and play. So will be fairly simple

Thanks to all that contributed to this subject. I read all the pages that started since 2022.
    Great mods.
I would suggest to everyone that is having fun modifying their truck, to Start thinking LONG TERM
Meaning you will be adding a lot of things to your truck and in no time your truck wiring it will look like a wiring hornets mess.

Add a light controller with a fuse box . I know this from having my Jeep for 9 years.
This will help you organize your wiring and make it easy.
Lots of options out there. Some are cheap , some very expensive. They all work great and do their job.
Good luck to everyone having fun

I have had my wired marker lights installed for months and have had service and recalls performed during that time with no issues.
