After you get the truck you're and looking at some other lifted trucks on here you're probably going to want to put bigger tires and lift what ever you get, Pro or otherwise. Pro seems like a waste of money without the amenities of the 1794 and Platinum.

I bought my Pro at msrp of about $66k as it had no add ons. That was about what a Limited Hybrid OR went for msrp so it was worth it. If you can get one for msrp great, if you pay over and want a lift then look at 1792 OR hybrid

I added “take offs” from TRD Pro to my 2023 TRD Sport.
I wanted feed back on what is needed to add “take offs” TRD Pro suspension Front and Rear shocks.
One item I would need is the Red CV Axle.
What else would be needed to make this work.
Would the truck be the same height as a TRD Pro if I did this?

I got the pro just for resale value. As another stated an SR5 is a better value but once you add a bunch of parts it still an SR5 and people will only pay SR5 money for it.

I also didn't want to mess with my truck because in the past it always introduced some kind of problem whether that's some kind of shake, alignment problem or other gremlins that just take time and money to work out. Plus there is value in a factory warranty on a finished product or wholistic package.

I didn't want a hybrid due to the loss of storage under the back seat along with my belief that the batteries/hybrid components will be costly to replace. I really like the factory lift and am so glad I got it. Here is a good video that goes over all the lift components which in my mind justify the cost: https://youtu.be/03JkV4wr2PU?si=fP8aubhlLI-mxoVw

I have a 2023 TRD Sport because I could get color match and I felt the price was best at $55K.
I then purchased (take offs) the TRD Pro wheels/tires for $2800 and sold my wheels and tires for $1300.
Now I am considering adding (take offs) TRD Pro shocks as many are selling them at a fair price.
Only problem is I don't understand how to do it correctly. Do I need the Red CV axle? or Pro sway bar links? Is the rear spring the same? What other considerations to do it right?
Would my truck which as-is sits an inch lower than the TRD Off Road then be the same height as a TRD Pro when done?
TRD Pro height/stance is what I want.

I primarily use this truck to haul my dirt bikes and tow a 18' RV. Of course, my truck see's fire roads and dirt roads but I don't use it to off road. I use my dirt bike to have that type of fun!

I would love to hear inputs!

You shouldn’t need the red axle. It’s only 1” of lift. The trd 3” lift I can see thats needed.

I heard up to 2" lift is ok, more than that the angle starts putting wear on the cv joint. I am doing front shocks as well on my Tundra and had the same dilemma. I found out from a Wescot Designs video this information.

Yes.... I am aware of that - but several TRD Sport owners have told me they have lifted beyond 2" and don't have issues but also claim they not off roading. Just because they are not having issues doesn't mean it's a good idea.
After all my inquiries on this subject I feel I would need to upgrade the CV Axle if I lift.

Of course Wescott says that, they are selling the lift "kits".

Just to be fair/clear I feel like I should point out that Wescott does NOT sell the CV axle.

I had the same dilemma. I ended up buying a limited with TRD Off Road. I only did a leveling kit in the front and stuffed 34" tires on the 20" rims. Love the look and it is very capable. I have had it in the mountains in some sticky spots and did very well. The limited comes with a lot of goodies (and you can turn off the engine sound with Carista). Added armor, running boards and upgraded tires for like $3000. You can get the limited now with the black out kit, which looks awesome. I would put it head to head with a TRD Pro any day.

What leveling kit did you put on? Also, what was the tire size you put on the 20" rims? Was it the 275/65R20's? Any rubbing when off-road? Thanks,

OEM Toyota red front axle assemblies outfitted on TRD Offroad and TRD Pro model Tundra’s. These are slightly longer in length and are required when installing FOX’s aftermarket 2.5 or 3.0 coilovers if your factory axle shafts are black. The black axle shafts are too short and will not allow for the wheel travel gained with the FOX coilovers. If your truck has the optional TRD 3″ lift kit installed that comes with silver axle shafts, you do not need these.

For what it's worth, I purchased the TRD lift kit shocks which have two different circlip pistons. These are basically 5100s that have been tuned for the Tundra. The higher circlip setting will give about 2" of lift and does not require any other parts. I picked up some take off OEM springs I am having powder coated red. Will post pics when I get it all done.

I lifted my Sport with the TRD 3" Lift. No issues. So many mixed reviews prior if it can be done or not done. Just jumped off the deep end and the dealer did not bat an eye at it. Just kept on rolling and rocked it. Sold the sport wheels and put on 35" BFGs and 18" Fuels. Done and Done.

Hi - Rough Country leveling. I did it myself fairly easy. Correct on the tires. No rubbing at all.. Good luck

I just added TRD lift kit shocks, nothing else. Pretty happy with it. Not trying to make it a PRO, also happy to have 6.5' bed and under seat storage.

There’s a stop sale for the 3” lift. Issues with install. I’ve heard clamp failures when compressing springs, or stress issues with geometry of some bolts. Can’t seem to find a for sure answer or an ETA.

I have the same truck but platinum. I see you also have the red springs, so did you also buy the springs with the shocks from the Trd kit? it doesn't look like you have the red axles. so I was just curious on your set up thanks.

I bought springs on eBay for $60, had powder coated for $80... Used a spring compressor, had alignment done at Toyota dealership. Original axels, no problems since it's less than 2" lift
