Really want to know the story behind the Jeep transmission and why the hell they wouldn't consider it a manufacturer defect for going out after 33 miles.

Do it Chad. Right about 8 years 80k is when the Grand Cherokee starts falling apart. By 10 years/100k, everything is broken.

So Jeep scams you the second you buy the car. I drove it home and like I said with 33 miles on the odometer, it broke, so I took it to the dealer and they told me that I was driving it to hard for them to cover under warranty. Jeep SRTs have there launch control that you cant use until after 500 miles to allow for proper break in time. The SRT specialist told me that I must have somehow bypassed it. I called SRT directly and they stated that this is normal for there transmissions. What happens is when the trans starts rapidly down shifting the gears start to grind and lurch. I was in the forums and a lot of people are having the problem that Jeep refuses to fix/warranty and continue to say its normal. As soon as they accused or raised suspicion on my "BYPASSING" skills I dropped all faith in Jeep and put a deposit on my Tundra that just came in a couple days ago.

In regards to the 4runner TRD PRO I had a deposit on it for 3 weeks, and when I went up to trade in for it, they refused to honor the agreed upon trade in price by 4,000 stating the mannheim auction prices no longer supported the trade in value.

So they accuse you of bypassing the programing on the jeep to allow you to blow up the transmission.
So are you stuck with a broken jeep?

Yes. I was able to get a Toyota dealer in Minnesota to give me 3K less than I paid for it. Really not that bad for the price of the vehicle and the continued headaches and time spent on the phone and at dealers. $77,000 flagship "high performance car" for the brand where the tranny breaks at 33 miles and they blame the customer. As you guys have stated. That will be the last time I make this MISTAKE and buy a jeep of any kind.

I just can not comprehend ANY jeep being worth anywhere near that kind of money. Yet people keep buying this junk. Just goes to show you how many people dont do their homework or research before buying.
