Bro, there is NO 7l coming to the raptor. The whole point of putting the V6 in it was to lighten it so it doesn’t nose dive on huge jumps.

That 7L is for the navigator, or possibly new excursion. Or to replace the 250 V8.

Maybe, just maybe you will see a TT Coyote.

That 7L is never happening. Rumor mill

And BTW the Raptor doesn’t have much over the Tundra aside from electronic nightmares. Don’t get me wrong, its a GREAT truck. but its also 72k equipped.

Take a SR5 for lets say 40k equipped from the dealer. Throw a Magnuson supercharger on it for 8k installed, bumpers, lights, wheels, tires, rock sliders. Once you sell your old tires and wheels, and bumpers looking at around 14k. Add a Icon stage 5 6k. 12,000 less than a raptor. You don’t have as many creature comforts as a Raptor, and you lack the reinforced frame. But you also don’t have to have a fuse map in your pocket trying to figure out whats wrong with your Dinosaur F150.

Take that 12k and go cross country for a few months and hit all the spots. Raptor loses. Now, if you are going to run deserts constantly then by all means go with the raptor. If you’re just going to crawl a bit, run some dunes, hit the highway the tundra is going to be with you A LOT longer.

I went in looking at a couple of CPO pros, ordered a new platinum, and ended up with a new 1794. I'm still happy with my decision 6 months later

Platinum seems nice but is it really worth $5k more than the Limited? You get auto up windows, quilted leather instead of smooth leather, memory seats and JBL? What am I missing?

auto folding and turn signal mirrors, way less chrome (bumper, grill, etc), lexus grade leather- far better quality, better seats- more adjustable and comfortable, heated and ventilated seats, and a few other features. The chrome delete and the seats alone are worth the $5k

:notsure: To each their own I guess. $5k is a lot of cheddar, but if you’re into it. At least there’s more difference to list off than what I figured.

In my view the platinum price difference is worth it over an SR5. The difference between SR5 and limited wasn't worth it to me, so I was actually shopping between SR5 with upgrade and platinum.

I personally like Pro. If you are likely to change out wheels, suspension, etc., then don't buy a Pro. Wheels on new pro are forged wheels.

You are paying $0 for chrome delete on Platinum. Most truck buyers still like chrome (just look around). 1794 has chrome galore at the same price point as Platinum. Platinum is a belated acknowledgment from Toyota of this niche taste of dechroming fad (all Platinum on gen 2's came with lots--did i say LOTS of chrome.)

19 pro has JBL now with the TSS and sunroof so it gained some features but id still take the Plat for the heated cooled seats all auto dimming mirrors and the auto climate controls.

my Plat was 53300 and got it for 47400 in may so your price of 46500 is pretty good, that's probably with the $ incentive so if you want 0% it'll be closer to what i paid.

Just a wild guess. Sorry. That 5 liter V8 with 467 hp (naturally aspirated) is a Lexus motor. It’s an understatement to say Toyota needs to totally refresh the Tundra. They let nothing leak out ahead of a launch, so all we can do is watch the big 3 and hope that Toyota stops the nonsense with fake hood scoops, and gets it together for 2020.

I vote PRO.....unless you're one of those dudes that spends all the extra $$ on a PRO, then turns around and lifts it and puts diff rims/tires on it. I think that kinda defeats the purpose of buying a PRO...so if that is your plan, get a Platinum..

    Pro suspension, sways
When it was time to start looking, I found myself drooling over the Pro... Then I went and drove one. Well, needless to say, it was badass. But then i found myself saying "no sunroof, no heated seats (a must where I live) no auto level, no auto up, no this, no that?... WTF". I was stunned that is was so stripped of amenities... things I have had in my trucks for 25years were not available... I realized that this was 100% an offroad intended truck. I loved the lure of the PRO, but it offered me nothing to avoid deal breakers when it came to purchasing.
I went with a Platinum, did the PRO ensemble of upgrades and got everything I could possibly want in a truck. All the amenities of the Platinum, all the Badass of the PRO (minus the bedstamp of course!)... So my vote is Platinum at a great deal, rather than overpaying for a modded SR5 with a very cool bedstamp, and the rare Toyota Pro exclusive club bragging.
There's nothing on that 2019 invoice that says the PRO has improved that much to make it worth it for me

Just an opinion from my experience. All comes down to what YOU desire from your truck. Good luck, no matter which way you go.... they are both Tundras!!!! You can't lose!

Get the PRO!! When I was looking for my PRO after I sold my SR5 I would look nationwide and there would be, at any given time about 18k-20K tundras for sale in the US, when I'd narrow the search down to the PRO only about 130-150 would be available. I got mine partially for the exclusivity. Everyone and their mother has a Tundra...I can't even count all the ones I see everyday but I rarely see PROs. Yes you can add suspension that's way better than what comes on a PRO...but it will never be a PRO plain and simple.

I’m gonna say go with a pro.
When I got mine in 2015 I could have had any tundra made for the same deal.
I prefer less technology and less features. To me, it’s less to go wrong.
Don’t want a sunroof, leather, tint or fancier sounds.
If offered a straight across trade today for a 2019 I’d probably say no. I don’t like the safety sensor crap, auto windows, auto lights or the heated and cooled seats and steering wheel.
    This is just me
