Isn't there a law against that? While they can make things harder to get, manufacturers have to produce the parts to vehicles something like 7 years after production. Right?

That is correct. They must produce parts for a particular model for at least 10 years.

I am excited ... just received an e-mail from Toyota of Cool Springs that my cc has been charged & the order status has changed from "back order" to "processing" on my super white pro grille & bulge set up. I hope this means I'll have a package arriving next week!

August 22 but it's a super-white and, from what I've seen, it's the most common color with most availability ...

Really discouraging hearing all these people that ordered their grill weeks ago and they get confirmation that it's shipped already and there's ones out there that ordered months ago and have no idea if they'll ever get a grill :(

Hang in there man, Super White apparently is an easier one to get ahold of. Black is one of the hardest to grab as everyone uses that as a base to have painted all the other colors of the rainbow. It will be worth the wait!

That is the case. Some colors are harder to get than others. I don't know why that is, and it seems pretty ridiculous to me, but I'm just the messenger. I'm doing everything I can to make sure we get these in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I know it's pricey but the box is huge, and the items are very well packed. I believe shipping for my grill, bulge and color matched front bumper ends was around $100.

I get it's a lot of stuff but that's way too much. You can get mostly anything shipped for free or for just a few bucks these days. Even items that way hundreds of pounds. Someone who makes routine online sales can give a better price too. Seems like they are secretly price gouging but charging it under "shipping?"
But whatever if people pay it...

Are we talking Romans shipping? His prices with shipping for pro grill setup are lower for most people than local dealer for the parts without shipping. And he's actually getting people grills. Seems like a steal to me.

There is no such thing as free shipping. UPS, FedEx, and the post office are not working out of the kindness of their hearts. It costs money to ship any way you slice it, from clips to grilles, to anything else. You may get "free shipping" from certain websites, like Amazon for example, but it is 100% not free. You are paying for it in one way or another. Most of the time they include it in the price of the product, so they can put a giant FREE SHIPPING label on the ad and make people think they are getting it for free.

We sell with, what I like to call, honest pricing. There is a modest markup in the parts. (I got kids to feed. :D) Then, there is the shipping, which is what the courier charges us to ship. A lot of the time, we actually lose out on the shipping. I've had to explain to superiors why we lost money on a sale because the discount is pretty large and we went negative on the shipping due to incorrect dimensions or whatever the problem was.

We could do it the other way, but then we'd get people complaining about our part pricing being too high. Six one way, half a dozen another. Always look at the total of the product plus the shipping versus the the product with free shipping. I have told many people on certain things to pick up a part locally because the shipping cost makes it not worth buying from me. Whatever it is, just make sure you get the best deal, if the cost is your number one priority. If service is number one, that's what I'm here for, though I think you'll find that my pricing is pretty good too. :D
