TRD Pro grille back order situation

I got my Black 202 Grille and Bulge from my local dealership this week. They had several in stock. My friend also got one in White from his local dealership in New Jersey, where he said they have several in stock. Looks like Toyota is releasing a lot now - will drive down the Ebay opportunists.

 

I sure hope they do. I just checked this morning, like I do every morning, and I still have the same information. I have been getting some trickling in, but still no black ones.

 

I found my MGM pro grille at a local dealer, in stock.

 

2 quick questions.
If I have a super white Tundra but want the black TRD Pro grille do I order black or super white? I just want the middle piece black.

Also, I heard from a good source that Toyota USA locked down all Pro Grilles unless VIN#s from a wrecked TRD Pro could be documented and verifies. An email went out to all dealerships about 30 days ago.

I called 6 dealers across the country. All said the part isn't even available and most likely it was like the TRD Pro grille issue the Tacomas had a year or two go.

I then went to my local dealer who sells in the top 5 of all dealers nationally. They said the waitlist for the grille was 749 nationally and I'd be number 750, although Toyota was cancelling all orders that didn't have VINs of a TRD Pros attached and they wouldn't even take an order from me Saturday because Toyota locked out the part number. WTF is true.

 

I royally fucked up and tried to save some money by ordering from someone other than roman. Complete f'ing regrets right now

You'd need to order a super white grille.

As far as VINs go, I haven't heard anything about Toyota requesting them. I should find out something when I go to place my stock order today.

If you can still order them and they are still showing up at the door I'll order one but I've put my truck purchase on hold due to no grille availability. At least that's according to 6 dealers. Toyota USA is supposed to call me today.

 

I heard the same thing about them being on VIN lock now. You can only get one if you have a Pro VIN

 

Just got some more in today. No VINs given.

 

Toyota likes you then. I was given the same VIN line by another dealer. Ordered one last night.

 

if I cancel my order with the "other" vendor, how quick you think you'd have a white one to ship out?


BTW, got my front bumper end caps from you guys last week, really appreciate the quick turn around even considering the custom painting!

 

I hate to say for sure because Toyota has been so finicky with their time estimations, but I show to have more white ones coming on the 11th.

 

Any Inferno pro grills @Roman

 

I don't have any in stock, but I only have two orders for Inferno. Shouldn't be too long of a wait on those. Maybe 3-4 weeks, hopefully.

 

How's MGM looking?

 

I've got a lot of orders for MGM, BUT I also have some coming in later this month, hopefully. They still show to be pending shipment.

 

HB, are you swapping your front bumper caps yourself? If so, please let me know how it goes. Having to mess with parking sensors, et al, has me contemplating having it done @ the dealership.

 

Everything i've read says it's going to be easy....but i'm not going to do it till i get my hands on the grill as removing that is part of the process

If you do end up with 2 then just wait till they are fully discontinued and sell it for double. Then you got a free one

 

Makes sense. I already installed the pro grill. Super easy...took about 15 mins. If you ordered your grill from Roman you should get it relatively fast. About 5 weeks for me.

 

That may depend on the color. Saturday will be 2 months since I ordered mine, status still shows backorder.

 

what he said. Hopefully some silver sky metallics start flowing in. I ordered mine exactly a month ago, so most likely I'll have to wait another month or so but roman has been great updating me.

 

I ordered my Silver Sky Metallic Pro grill back in April, so hang on tight.

I can only imagine the frustration Roman feels, especially when you offer the level of customer service that he delivers.

 

Have you received yours? If so how long was the wait from when you place the order until you received it?

 

True. I believe HB said he's also getting white..
