I hear you on the M series... I was sitting in stop-and-go traffic the other day and a guy in the lane next to me had a new M4. Every time traffic would start moving he'd wait for about 100ft of space to clear up in front of him and then would rev it up and gun it up to the stopped traffic. A few minutes of that drove me nuts... I felt like just cutting him off but I'm not a complete d-bag.

    None. Keeping this one stock.
IME. Had a TRD dual since 2011 on a used Tundra 5.7, then transferred onto new 2014. Didn't know how stock felt until November when I traded it in on a 2018. Now, I can attest that stock form is better, stronger, more useable in lower RPM range. I'm sold on stock. And I've done the intakes, Hypertech stuff.

Bamuffer has been saying this. I had doubted him but have come to believe he’s correct.

I’d use his stuff but would really need to hear it in person first. For me I want relative quiet with a hint of rumble.

Well, I d on't know who that is, so can only compare from what I've experienced. Had a 2011 used, with a magna flow. Loud and rear exit by passenger rear door. Sounded bitching. Like shit on low end. So, sold it and got a TRD. Got some back pressure back, over the magna flow, and better sound. Bought a 2014 and transferred the TRD to it. So, I've had a TRD since 2011/12 on my Crewmax 5.7. Now, I'm in a 2018, could have kept TRD, but decided flak it, let's go stock. And it just feels better under 3K rpm.

I know you're itching to spend money, but take it from someone who's been in a 5.7 CM for 7 years. Intakes don't do jack. Stay stock. Take that cash and put it in an interior LED conversion or something. Seriously, your stock intake is all you need...unless you have forced induction.
I've used TRD intake, Volant Power Core (actually worked in conjunction with Hypertech Interceptor), and the SnB. That's about a K all around over time, and I always went back to stock and sold them.

And by the way...those claims of "improved gas mileage and power" are way overstated. Basic science says that more air means you'll need more gas. Add big wheels, tires and a lift and you've probably dropped your mileage by 2-3 mpg. My 2014 is coming stock and I'm gonna leave it that way for a while. I had an 07 with Borlo dual and AFE cold air and I got rid of the AFE due to noise. It quieted it down a bit going back to OEM but still had a nice growl.

Why do you lose bottom end power, with the dual exhaust you have less restriction.

I can feel it and based on posts I've read from Keith at dirty deeds this is due to perhaps TOO MUCH flow. you'd have to read what he has to say about it but I've run my truck both ways and am convinced it is the case.

I don't want to speak for keith but IIRC he talks about the best setup for low end torque being a single outlet exhaust.

nevertheless I've reinstalled the TRD exhaust on my truck and am enjoying it.

if I had to guess I'd say the drop in low end takes some time to appear. I know it sounds crazy but with the comments I've seen about ECM 'learning' I wonder if it's adjusting to the exhaust over time. when I first put the TRD back on I thought 'eh almost no difference to stock' but now a month plus later I'm feeling like it is indeed a bit soggy at the low end.

No one has mentioned that the TRD dual exhaust is the only one that is made entirely out of steel. No anodized crap that has to be replaced within 10 years or less.
I paid mine less then $1000 and after trying both K&N air filter (returned and got my money back because overoiled) and TRD air filter, I'm switching back to paper OEM filter. Better sound, better filtration and better gas mileage.
Does anyone wants to buy my factory single stock exhaust?
