I am in Liberty Lake (near Spokane) and the dealer that quoted me that was Autonation Toyota in Spokane Valley.

@bballjames gotcha. The dealer...Lake City Toyota - they just called me back and told me - ready for this - $8500 for the lift kit and install! They sell the kit for $2600 (on sale) - so they are saying they want almost $6k for the install! 3x what I was quoted by another local dealer. Seems like a nice guy, but must just not want the business. Wild.

UPDATE: Purchased the kit and skid plate through another dealer not too far away - the kit was $2500 and the skid plate was $400. Getting them both installed at the dealer I bought the vehicle and get it serviced at for $2200. They are also putting on Ridge Grapplers (35s). Going to make sure sway bar is under skid plate and that they keep the fog lights (why do they say to remove them in the instructions?)

Install scheduled for next Wednesday. Will post before and after pictures when it is complete as I haven't seen one with the 6.5" bed yet.

Good to hear! Post those pics when done. And you are right - I haven’t seen too many 6.5 ft beds either - I love mine. Very glad I got the longer bed.

Are you keeping the stock wheels with the 35s? I think that’s what I’ll do. I kind of like the stock+ look myself.

I can’t believe they wanted $6k for the install. That is nuts.

@bballjames Yes, needed the 6.5 for hauling. TBH, I am amazed how easy it is to parallel park (with all the cameras and sensors...hard to mess that up). I had a shorter bed on my 2014 Tundra 1794 previously.

I am keeping the stock wheels, like the SEMA truck where they originally showed the lift - I really liked the look and why I chose the Ridge Grapplers as well...imitation is the best form of flattery I guess. Will post pics when done.

The other dealer is in Seattle proper and they hadn't done a lift, so my assumption is their mechanics 1) don't know how to do it yet and 2) they are focused on Prius and Camry repairs ;)

Prices seem all over the place for the kit and install.

How much rake front to back after installing the kit?

Not to spark a tangent, but.....

One of the (many) issues with the dealer model.

To answer you question about removal of the fog lights, it's only in certain states and it because they no long meet that state's regulation/law on height of fog lights which are not tied into the high beams. They are on a separate switch. This has been answered somewhere else on this forum but didn't find it.

I received a call from my dealership yesterday. The TRD lift kit has been going on successfully. The dealership requested some additional time until Friday end of day to complete the alignment and go over everything to ensure a perfect install. No problem!

I went to the dealership today to pick up my courtesy vehicle (2022 Highlander Hybrid, nice!) and was allowed to head back into the service bay to take a look. I wasn’t able to speak to the master tech but got these pics. As I requested they used the middle setting on the front coilover. From what I can see I am really happy with the heights of front and rear. I am also very happy with the dealership, they have been taking really good care of me and I sense they are also excited about this install.

Apparently the techs are very impressed with the quality of the lift kit and the parts and detail that go into it. I will post my thoughts and a ton more pics after I pick up the truck on Friday. Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all!

Looks great. What tires are those? Any pics with it on the ground yet? How does the drive feel?

thanks R2! Tires are BFG KO2 285/65R20. No pics on the ground yet! I think Tundra’s spending the night and tomorrow on the lift due to the holiday. Friday the techs will spend time going over the entire install and finishing the alignment and safety sense calibration before I pick up the truck.

I was asked to bring the Tundra back after 500 miles for a follow up check to ensure everything is working and wearing correctly, with another alignment check. My dealership has really done a great job, I’m impressed with how professionally they’re handling this install.

The fact that this kit is official TRD and includes warranty is a huge selling point for me. As soon as I have the truck I’ll take pics from ground level and spend time test driving for a full report.

Cool - and glad they are doing a good job for you. As we were sharing quotes that seems all over the place, what was your install cost? Hours?

The dealership set a cap of 2100 max to protect themselves in case the time spent on installation went way over estimates. This is their first install of the kit and they had no idea how long it would take them. I wanted a lower cap but after discussing my other requests (keeping foglights and getting TRD skid to fit) I decided to go for it; with the understanding that I’d only pay for actual hours spent. After our discussion today it seems like it hasn’t actually taken as long as they feared, and there is going to be a potential adjustment down which was welcome news. I’ll know the final costs when I pick up on Friday.

@Taikowaza stoked to see pics if you get to pick it up today! Also, curious what area you are in / dealer did the install. Thanks!

Thanks R2 for your post! I’m also very much looking forward to picking up my Tundra hopefully later today with the lift kit installed. I think the dealer is keen to make sure the install is perfect, my app has been informing me these past days of regular action (doors and windows open and closed, tailgate etc). I’m extremely hopeful that the fog lights remain fully intact, that the TRD skidplate is on, and that the install cost will come out to less than expected. Also looking forward to the subjective tests like feel while driving, feel over bumps and obstacles, etc. Will post an update and many pics. Cheers!

Throw a winch & bumper on the front. It'll drop that front end quite a bit. :)

Yeah. Having them go up to the highest setting is probably a good thing then, if you're planning on a bumper & winch setup. My bumper & winch dropped my front end by about 3/4".

Congratulations PilotMikeski! Looks great!! Let us know what you decide re: your skid plate! There are a bunch of threads about this lift happening right now, I'll post a link to the discussion about the skidplate and spacers etc

Scroll down on this page, we're talking about reductions in front travel when deciding (as I did) to reuse the factory end links instead of the kit spacers. I'm looking for ways to use the spacers and still keep the TRD skidplate, to maximize front travel

Good for them - and glad to hear that worked out for you. Your truck looks AWESOME. I'm excited to get mine done hopefully in the next several weeks. I haven't ordered tires yet... decisions decisions...

How long did Sparks take to get you the lift? I ordered a few days ago and emailed and said to expect this to ship out today. Probably much faster to IN than to WA where I am, but just curious. Also did it come via freight? Or standard carrier like FedEx and UPS?

PilotMikeski-any chance you have total height of truck with the lift? Wondering if it will go in garage.

Do you think those tires will fit on a stock limited wheel?

285/65R20 is a perfect size for the stock limited TRD wheel. No rub even on stock TRD OR, no deactivation of safetysense on TRD lift kit install. It’s a 35” but b/c it’s metric instead of flotation, it has a much higher load rating.

I was going to go with 35x12.5r20s but after talking with the tire guy I can’t use that size on a stock rim. Tires are too wide he said. So I am also going with 285/65/20s. Probably a very unpopular opinion on here, but I like the look of stock wheels over aftermarket. So I needed a tire that would still fit.

I'm by no means a pincher of pennies but I can't bring myself to replace what I already paid for just so I can have a better look, although I too happen to like the look of stock wheels. While I don't care for the stock tires, I refuse to replace them until I run them out. At that point I will also decide whether or not to lift it.

Ya I can totally appreciate that. I am a CPA so definitely very against my own personal nature to replace these tires when I only have 1,300 miles on the truck :) But with the TRD lift that will be going on hopefully in the next couple weeks, I don't want to look silly either. I am hoping I can sell the tires at least and recoup something.

I think R20 is R20 whether it’s a standard or TRD wheel. Tires should fit both fine….

I may be incorrect however! Hoping others will have more educated wisdom for you ElJefe before you purchase your tires.

Personally I think 285/65R20 will fit your non TRD R20 wheels.
