Installed today and took quick test run. I’d say quieter than tundra version and a bit less pleasant in cab. I know my tundra pro exhaust mellowed over time to where I loved it so hoping this does the same.

I’ve got the 2nd and 3rd row seats and carpet pulled on mine and laying down dynamat to hopefully ease some of the drone of the TRD Pro exhaust. Ran out of material to cover all the floor so I got another shipment inbound, should finish up before the end of the week. Will report if it was worth the effort.

So I’ve got a couple of questions.

I think I read in here that the TRD Pro exhaust was an option, not standard equipment on the TRD Pro Sequoia?
Looks like the TRD Pro exhaust has an extra loop of pipe coming out from around from the back of the exhaust and along the side. No wonder it’s a bit louder!

I have a guy selling me his “TRD Pro” exhaust from his 2020 TRD Pro Sequoia (for a great price) but it doesn’t have that extra loop of pipe. Did all TRD Pro exhausts have that loop? I don’t think he knows it’s not a TRD Pro exhaust, probably just assumes it is since his truck is a TRD Pro. I will say, it does have a nice black chrome tip on it. ‍
    Any input would be appreciated!

If it has the black tip then it’s the optional TRD Pro exhaust. You can also tell the difference because the stock exhaust has a resonator just behind the tip whereas the TRD Pro optional exhaust just has straight pipe behind the tip. Interesting that he doesn’t have the helmholtz resonator, maybe Toyota updated the design after his truck has already been built. My ‘21 has it.

What’s the helmholtz resonator, that curved loop?? I’m asking him for pics of the whole exhaust to verify.

The piece on the side of the muffler that leads to nowhere.

That’s what I thought. Yeah maybe that’s new for 2021. He’s sending me a pic of the tip section. So if it’s a straight pipe, it’s a TRD Pro ya think? Makes sense if it doesn’t have a resonator.

Yeah looks like a regular exhaust with a black tip.

I’ve heard plenty of non flattering things about the TRD exhaust. I have the standard exhaust on my 21’ Sequoia TRD. Can anyone confirm the inlet and outlet diameter of the stock muffler? Thinking about doing a Flowmaster 44 and resonator delete on my factory exhaust. Thanks in advance.

Don't have measurements for you but i'm still pretty unimpressed with the pro exhaust. Just too much drone and almost zero good sound.

Yeah I’ve heard lots of underwhelming reviews. That’s why I just want hack out the factory muffler/resonator and weld in a Flowmaster Super 44. I just want a little depth in tone, nothing crazy loud. I’ll probably do a Corsa car back eventually.

@dirtydeeds sorry to bring back an old thread - do you have an exhaust available for ‘21 TRD Pro Sequoia? I am interested as I didn’t purchase the Toyota TRD one

Does anyone have a video of how this exhaust sounds?

Could someone please post a video? I am debating between this and the borla exhaust. Thank you.
