TRD dual exhaust

I ordered again last week from a somewhat local dealer that had a good price. They cancelled it next day, said it was still on national back order.

 

Anyone near southeast Va want to sell me your factory tailpipe?

 

Anyone add it to a hybrid platinum with a power bed step? My dealer was supposed to add it before pick-up but it didn't arrive in time. Dealer I bought it from is 5 hours away.

 

I am no where near you but have one not being used. Not even sure it could be shippped. Maybe a member could Tundra Express it to you if they are passing through Colorado heading your way.

I just picked one up from a local dealer a few weeks ago. He cancelled my order first time, said they were backordered.

I did check with my local dealer and nothing in stock. I’m looking for black tips.
Sparks wanted $200 to ship to me in Maine even with coupon. I’ll just wait it out and see if I can get ahold of one this fall.

 

Bam wholesale is the answer for anything bulky. I bought my TRD side steps and exhaust there and shipping was like $15 for each.

I have no idea how they make any money after shipping.

 

Anyone know if there is a post out there going to a muffler shop for just a resonator delete? I am thinking this might be a viable option for similar sound.

 

I placed an order for one with the black chrome tips back in June. I just checked the status yesterday... not in stock, no ETA. So, I canceled the order.

 

With the new trucks (V6s) can you have a true dual exhaust or is it having two pipes coming off of one exhaust? I have not even seen one of the new motors, I am just curios about that? Oh ya,,,, plus I have not seen one come off the line with dual exhausts?

So there is not a true dual exhaust yet for the new motors? Just a couple pieces of pipe? Is that what they are calling dual exhausts?

 

Not even dual pipe.... just dual tip. I suppose you could cobble up a real dual exhaust but that would be an expensive waste of time, IMO.

That is exactly what I thought but was not sure because I have not seen one. The piping and turbos and factory exhaust will probably be it for the V6s until a change of some sort. Thanks

Personally for me, hard pass on having to make a trip to the dealer unless it's absolutely necessary.

 

I have placed two orders with BAM for this item and it gets automatically canceled the next day. I’ve bought a few things through them and always have great prices and quick shipping.

 

My bad. I was looking at the chrome version that I purchased, and seems to be available most places.

 

Just went to the local muffler shop, $80 out the door for a resonator delete. I have the black chrome tip, so saving a couple hundred $$ seems like a good move. Will update tomorrow with a cold start.

 

I've had four combinations of exhaust at this point:
1) Factor muffler with factor rear pipe (with the resonator
2) factory muffler with TRD rear pipe
3) dirty deeds muffler with the TRD rear pipe (with a DD helmholtz resonator)
4) dirty deeds muffler with factory rear pipe

3 was way too loud for me. I was the first person Keith did a muffler for with the TRD pipe who wanted that resonator. So there were some hiccups there with resonator location. No knock on Keith - he's fantastic and spent a lot holiday weekend time talking me through it.

4 is reasonable and I've gotten used to it with the hot charge pipes and CAIs. It's still louder than 2 but seat of the pants says it's a little more responsive now.

 

I ordered mine back in October. Truck arrived in June. Exhaust wasn’t there. Was told to order locally as I purchased the truck in a different city. Local dealer told me 6 weeks, but we’ll see. I’m feeling like ordering just the black tip in the meantime, as I hate the factory tip.

 

It is definitely louder on a cold start, but I couldn't hear any difference driving. If anything it was a fun experiment and a little throatier startup aint bad.

 

Bought the chrome tipped version then immediately chopped them off! High heat primer then black up to the junction. I had planned on painting the tips too but went against it for personal reasons.

If he just deleted the rear resonator, is probably sounds exactly like the TRD "exhaust".

 

Got a Chrome set being delivered today for install after my truck gets out of the body shop. Eventually I’ll probably move to something louder but looking forward to this upgrade.
