TRD dual exhaust

Called a few dealers (Sparks included) and the black chrome tailpipe is backordered with no ETA from Toyota.

While it's line that you two have kissed and made up....on Valentine's Day too!.....I am once again struck by Toyota's engineering decision here.

Why the hell make 3 different muffler assemblies (each with longer pipe), instead of just cutting it off right before the muffler and adding a variable length mid-pipe?
Cheap out on other things, but go weld me up 3 different mufflers.

Does anyone know where the heck I can go to get this installed in the Dallas area after I wait for the backordered exhaust to show up lol?

 

Oh nice ok. Thought I saw someone mention you have to weld a portion of it. Anyone have an installation video link?

Installed this exhaust today, had to remove the automatic bed step. There was a interference that I just couldn't avoid. I only started it for a few seconds so no real comment on sound.

 

you can bend the exhaust hanger to clear the bed step

 

Probably could but it was a lot of interference. I might try it later when I have more time to mess with it.

It's noticeably louder when driving on side roads, but not obnoxious. I didn't notice much difference on the highway. It was also really early in the morning so not sure if I just wasn't awake enough.

 

Darn it Big Blue!! Stop playing. We want answers. All this foreplay and no action.

Did you do the install yourself? I tried everything to install yesterday and am having a hard time getting the original out. Needless to say it was a disappointing day.

 

No dealership did it

 

You'll need to drop the spare tire.

 

How long did it take for dealer to install? I’m assuming they could do in/out less than an hr charge ?

Removed spare, removed rear driver side wheel, removed mud guard and linkage/sway bar. Still couldn’t get it out. I’ve worked on cars all my life. I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. Have an appointment at local dealer. They want 179 guess they’re charging me for the full hour. I’ll try to post a sound clip once it’s done.

 

Huh it was took me a few minutes to wiggle it out but wasn't bad once I took the tire off. Good luck!

 

I removed the spare still couldn’t get it out . Jacked up passenger side it came right out and trd exhaust went right in.
