I don’t know that guy nor have I ever owned a Tacoma, but I saw that post and even linked it in the trans cooler thread. I know you said that not every dealer will give you issues and sounds like he went to a difficult one. But we are only hearing one side of that story and it sounds like a very biased side. There’s always more to the story. Not saying he is lying. I’ve had trucks with lots of mods though and never had an issue. It all depends on how the dealer words it to Toyota.

simply not true I’ve not once had a warranty denied for mod or my own maintenance.

I’ve only had to lawyer up once and that was the dealership it’s self and they paid up with out going to court. That dealership is out of business.

Here is a pretty good read, but remember if you fuck up then yes it’s on you.

I’m not saying everyone will have an issue. I’m just saying it’s a risk you take when you modify a car beyond how it was designed from the factory. How big or small that risk turns out to be probably varies dealership to dealership.

Obviously the story I linked was a worst case scenario where someone at corporate wanted to push the issue. Modify the truck however you want but I wouldn’t hang my hat on the Magnuson moss act saving you should you come into a situation like the story I linked where service was refused

It’s a risk if you don’t know what you are doing.

I turn 50 in a month I’ve owned a lot of vehicles. Not one of them were ever denied warranty for legit work or parts done.

If you are going to track your vehicle it’s outside the scope of intended use. A clear warranty violation even if left stock and all maintenance done at a dealership.

How are we "uptight and paranoid"? Multiple dealerships have told multiple forum members that adding a cooler would ABSOLUTELY void the warranty for anything transmission related.

I understand that, that is why I said "regarding any transmission issues". Also, good luck fighting Toyota over a warranty dispute and citing the Magnuson Moss Act, it will probably cost you about $100k in legal fees and a year of your time.

You are 100% right and that is why YOU don't try to fight them. You turn them in to the state and let them do the fighting. Worst case they do nothing, and you eat it like you are saying, but it won't cost you a dime in legal fees. Best case, they light the fire under the manufacturer and you get your warranty work, and maybe prevent them from trying to bulldoze somebody else in the future.

All of those people with all do respect do not know what they are talking about. The act of adding the cooler does not void it. installing it incorrectly certainly could.. example if the lines leaked and caused it to burn up.

Let’s say a fork in the tranny broke you going to tell me a cooler caused that?

Here is a picture of my 2015 window sticker and my 2020s. Based on the sticker language I don’t see a recall happening. Unless because the word “coolers” is used vs. “cooler” indicating the coolers are two separate units??? 2019+ buyers....we got hustled.

If you apply that same logic to the "4&7" (2015) and "4/7" (2020) pin connectors which are identical, it doesn't make any difference. At the end of the day, it's a bait and switch, the minor changes in language are really just semantics.

So you're calling that warming/ cooling puck a transmission cooler that's separate from the engine cooler?

Toyota is lowering itself to GM quality doing this removing the aux cooler, no wait, GM has aux trans coolers, uh, why tarnish a great name with such stupid moves Toyota? Then trying to "relabel" how high a trans temp is safe??, duh, damage starts to occur much lower than 280 f. Now the trans overheat light comes on at 302 f, where it used to come on at 240 F or so. Why have trans overheat light come on at 302 f when clutch damage and seal damage starts occurring at around 260 F. Really ticks me off since I am about to buy a new tow rig. I thought Tundra was the truck for me. Now I have to spend big bucks to make it reliable for towing??? Why can't I buy a Tundra setup CORRECTLY for towing off the lot?

Comparing a Tundra to a GM just because of a missing trans cooler that a global company's engineers decided to remove? Go buy your GM and let us know how similar they are in quality. This thread is turning into the same thing as the "MISSING trans cooler lets all call Toyota" thread. That's my .02 I'll see myself out now.

Nope, I didn't even use the word "cooler" or reference it in my post. Just making the point that "/" vs "&" doesn't mean anything or differentiate the 2019+ from earlier models. Wishing I hadn't even bothered posting at this point, interpret it as you wish. :)

Lol. There’s a bunch of people who own GMs half ton who wish that their biggest problem was a missing trans cooler that could one day, possibly, but we don’t really know for sure, cause the trans to have issues
