Frozen :). My WRX on snow tires is what I’ve been using to get around, and we didn’t take the dogs to the big park at all. Trucks been sitting for days.

OK, so here is the final verdict.

I added .8 quarts the other day, drove a bit, no issues. I drove to the dog park today, no issues. I checked the levels when warm and idling, and they were still a bit low, so I bought two more quarts. I added another half a quart, still showed low, added the rest, still showed low, added another .5 quarts or so, and it is finally at the warm level on the dipstick. I drove around, purposely trying the replicate the jerkiness (slow down to almost a full stop and gun it) and not a single jerk. All together, I added 4.5 quarts after I drained it - 2.2 right away, .8 the other day, and 1.5 today.

    It was either:

    a) I didn't calculate what I drained properly
    b) transmission was low to begin with but not exhibiting any issues

Whatever it was, I am glad it it good now. I hope I didn't cause bad damage inside the tranny driving around with low fluid levels.

In 30k miles, I'll change it again and I will monitor very closely how much will come out. With the amount of driving I do, this might take 5+ years.

Thank you all for your advice and input!
