That’s why I said factory transmission cooler. From the factory, none of them had one.

If the issue is truly the loaner they put you in, you can likely put your name on the list for something else when/if one becomes available. The grand Highlanders are nice, but not a pickup, so maybe request a new Tundra or Tacoma and see what they say.

As previously mentioned, enjoy a new loaner and no likes on your own vehicle for this time. Frustrating as it may be, it happening now, and you driving someone else's vehicle in winter isn't the worst thing. I hope you have it back before outdoors seasons really kicks off.

No. It wasn’t the IMS or bore scoring which are somewhat common failures. I was lucky enough to have a valve spring break due to a metallurgy issue at 60K mileage.

Man, I don't wanna judge but I can imagine OP going full Karen at the dealer for the smallest things lol.
Things break and that's life...they're taking care of you and seems like you're making it a bigger deal than what it is.

Yea as mentioned the only major failures I’ve seen is high heat no additional coolers and not monitoring temps

Halleluiah, someone with a 2019+ Gen2.5 (out of the thousands sold) finally blew a transmission! Pre 2019 Tundra owners rejoice! You are vindicated for all the trolling! lolol.

Screw this MAN, I am selling both of my Tundras (gen 2 and gen 2.5) and going for the ugly but yet reliable 3rd generation. This really pushed me over the cliff :)

You don’t have to take my advice. Just drive your truck and be oblivious to the fact that literally 10 years of the Tundra had coolers installed on the tow package…..”lolol”

Whatever this forum told me to do
and I would have bet this thread would have deteriorated because of someone mentioning using Maxlife Trans Fluid instead of Toyota WS.

    live and learn.

Just what I think if not I will apologize. Or maybe I am stupid for thinking 3rd gen? very possible. The mileage threw me off

I haven't been in here for a long time and just dropped in to monitor the 2019+ transmission failures. Have we started a sticky thread to keep track yet?
