You can use an infrared thermometer pointed at the bottom of the trans. pan. They will read about 5 degrees degrees low. Cost around $20-$30 on Amazon or Harbor Freight.

I'd like to do this, if only to validate what OBD Fusion says.

    Pretty things
Yep. I love to see it too.

Seems to limit all the funny variables as much as possible, going with what the truck itself is telling you.

Dont need to know the proper temp for your tranny, don't need to worry about accuracy of your laser thermo, etc.

Idk why, but on my 18' TRD OR came out about 3.5 qt , I refill it with 4 qt, AND STILL WASNT ENOUGH.
    Changed transmission oil yesterday.
I added about 0.6 qt more ..and after opened the overflow plug came some amount of fluid before it starts trickle.
Aproxm I fill it with 4.2 qt.

Does any body know, is it Factory fault that possible wasn't fill correctly ? Why i have to fill a lot more then came out.
Truck has 59K miles. Bought truck at 19k miles.
Btw truck shifting a lot smoother, just wow.
