have a 2017 with the 5.7 4x4. When I start the truck up and take off there is a clunk noise when the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd. Took the truck in for maintenance and mentioned this to the tech. The results were that it was a module of the transmission and that all the trucks did this, is there any truth to this? Anyone else have this issue? It only happens on initial take off and only between those gears.

I feel mine when I first hit about 15mph... ABS check. Manuel says it’s normal. He’s related to E-Manuel... which was a PDF :D

I have the ffv too didn’t know until the dealer told me. Have you ever used that e85 stuff in it?

Even w/the FFV e85 burns hotter, dirtier and less efficiently than gas. You have to change your oil more often when you run it as well. Fudge that pickle.

Sounds more like a hassle than a convenience then. Not worth the .10 savings.

Yeah, not at all. Toyota actually mentions it in the manual. The maintenance schedule changes and they make recommendations on how often (or little) you should actually use it.

To the original poster - what you're hearing is normal. Mine does it as well.

Regarding that E85 stuff - who the heck uses it? I've heard nothing but horrible things about it.
