Are you aware of an ECU upgrade made by dealership that could solve the issue and give correct readings on "miles to empty" reading?
Did you have to change the EVAP canister?
Also have you had any issue at inspection with the emission test?
    Thanks for you and help.

I’m failing to understand the importance of your gauge correctly reading miles to empty...are you competing in a cross country race across America; needing to stop for gas as little as possible, a la “Death Race”? As long as it correctly reads from 300~ miles left until empty to 0, you’re getting like 6 hours notice that you need to fill up, that not enough?

I guess if the gas gauge reads the correct amount of fuel in the tank that should be ok also knowing your mpg average. On my old vehicle I went by my miles traveled and gas gauge reading before refuel.
    It shouldn't that bad then.
    Thanks.

I am not aware of any updates. If there is, no one with an aftermarket tank has done it.
No change of EVAP can I am aware of.
I am in a non emissions controlled state. Neither Transferflow nor LRA are CA legal. BUT, ANYTHING can happen. You might just get the wrong inspector and be screwed. This is the nature of modifying vehicles.

Why are you concerned with the DTE? I just never use it. I fill up when I see the gas light and hear the beep.

Your mpg calculations at the pump arent going to change because you have a larger tank, you base that number off of fuel dispensed into tank during fill up...

FYI I was looking into the Transferflow and as you all know it's discontinued. I called them and had a nice chat with a rep there. They said they've been getting a lot of calls about the tank for the Tundras and MAY bring it back. He put me on a list to be notified when/if it's back in production.

Yeah, they discontinued it a bit ago. LRA is still producing theirs, purchase through Cruiser Brothers in the US. It'll be cool if Transferflow brings their tank back. I feel like as trucks get past their warranty period people will purchase more aftermarket parts.

I've no problem by a purchasing an OEM. Papasmurf done the upgrade with an OEM tank and listed all of the parts needed.
    Those are mine
    https://parts.pinehursttoyota.com/cart
Less then $1800 plus $200 labor.
If Toyota will honor warranty because OEM parts are used (hopefully, I will research that to just to be sure), I don't see why I'll have to wait for warranty to expire before upgrading the tank.

You're spending the same in gas. It didn't make your MPG worse. Yeah, it's more per fill up, but you will have spent the same.

Yup, I have yet to get more than 11mpg out of this truck. Computer shows 15mpg. Hand calculations at 10.8

    1) Yes, same stock fuel pump and gauge sensor. (both are in one unit)
    2) No upgrades to fuel line or canister needed.
    3) DTE does not get smarter, still thinks full = 26 gallons
Everything you need is in the "kit" from LRA. Nothing else is needed but the labor.

I did not ask my dealership if computer programming was needed. They commented on the gas tank during the last oil change but did not offer
help when I mentioned the DTE being way off now. Hope this helps.

I contacted Off Road LTD in Aurora, CO. yesterday about a transferflow tank. Talked with Jeff whom contacted transferflow who said they are back to making tanks for the tundra, just not flex fuel...

Like JRharvey02 said Tranferflow made a run of tanks again. I was on the call back list and got a call from a rep there. They said they made a limited run of 70, so get them while they last!

Off Road LTD is only a minute, less actually, from my house. They've been in Aurora for quite some time. Jeep guys with JP clients mostly. I pulled up in front there about 3 years ago in my Tundra with a wallet full of cash, walked in and looked around. The owner was jawjacking with JP customer. No else but me. Was totally ignored. Only a slight glance. Walked out and never went back. That's why I'm a Toytec fan boy.

This now frankenthread brought back memories of reading this, being fired up for the $1400 then okay $1800 transferflow. Just checked and like my call back then- $2,137.08 plus ship, tax and then install. Local rep said ya ~$3k as they would give a break on install. Still not flex fuel compatible for anyone wondering…but otherwise available.

I would do the transferflow in a heartbeat if it was the same parts cost as a 38gal as it was back then. Priced as it is now, my 5gal jugs might even get new stickers.
